More innuendo from May sexes up PMQs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Prime Minister Theresa May was at it again, taking the chance during Prime Minister\u2019s Questions to introduce some saucy humor into Parliament.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>During this Wednesday\u2019s session, May offered some reassurance to Richard Bacon MP after the Tory backbencher requested words of encouragement for<em><em> \u201cfat, middle-aged white men\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/em>following Donald Trump\u2019s US presidential election victory<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThat\u2019s a very interesting point,\u201d<\/em> she said before adding to the House\u2019s rejoicing, <em>\u201cPerhaps [you] should come up and see me some time.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The quip, echoing Hollywood siren Mae West\u2019s most famous one liner, drove MPs into hysterics.<\/p>\n<p>Commentators, however, did not find the quip so funny, taking to Twitter to express their disgust at the joke.<\/p>\n<p>Journalist Jane Merrick said she was <em>\u201cstill reeling\u201d<\/em> after the comment, and Independent deputy political editor Rob Merrick wrote: <em>\u201cWhat is it with Theresa May and sexual innuendo?!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>It wasn\u2019t the first time May has come out with racy comments in Parliament. Last month, May told fellow Conservative MP Peter Bone on the occasion of his birthday that she hoped <em>\u201cMrs Bone is going to treat the occasion in an appropriate manner.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/sRtML_2LFZ0?rel=0\" width=\"900\" height=\"506\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>And her Conservative Conference entrance song was none other than the Rolling Stone\u2019s Start Me Up.
