Acting UKIP leader Nigel Farage is planning to lead a 100,000-strong march to the Supreme Court on the day Prime Minister Theresa May\u2019s government appeals a ruling on MPs\u2019 involvement in Brexit negotiations.<\/p>\n
The march is expected to take place on December 5 with a view to coincide with the first Supreme Court hearing of an appeal against last week\u2019s High Court decision.<\/p>\n
Judges ruled against giving the government a royal prerogative, thereby allowing Parliament to have a say on when Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty can be triggered.<\/p>\n
Farage, who on Saturday warned there would be \u201cdisturbances on the streets\u201d<\/em> if Britain did not leave the European Union, is now set to lead the demonstration from Trafalgar to Parliament Square.<\/p>\n A spokesman for organizers told the Telegraph that millionaire Brexiteers Arron Banks and Richard Tice had, together with Farage, \u201csecured support from thousands of Leave voters.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n He added that the protest would \u201cmake a point that \u2018Brexit means Brexit\u2019,\u201d<\/em> as well as work as a \u201creminder about what we voted for, so there is no slippage on the single market which we think this case was used to get a negotiating stand on.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cThis will remind the Government, politicians and the establishment, including the court, that they cannot ignore the democratic vote of the people in the referendum.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Clearly, Farage is expecting his march to be banned on safety grounds, allowing him to play the ‘establishment is against the people’ card.<\/p>\n \u2014 Keith Burge (@carryonkeith) November 7, 2016<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n Is Farage going to provide special shirts for his 100,000-strong march on the Supreme Court?
