However, on Monday, Downing Street shut down Sir Keir, saying that a vote to <em>\u201csecond-guess\u201d<\/em> the referendum result, which will see Britain leaving the European Union, <em>\u201cis not an acceptable way forward.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"arcticle__read-more read-more\">\n<p>Read more<\/p>\n<p>    <a class=\"read-more__link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.rt.com\/uk\/362246-hard-brexit-destroy-economy\/\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/>\n                    <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"read-more__cover\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.rt.com\/files\/2016.10\/thumbnail\/57fb57ffc461882e218b45c5.jpg\" alt=\"\u00a9\u00a0Toby Melville\"\/><br \/>\n    <\/a>\n<\/div>\n<p>A <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thetimes.co.uk\/edition\/news\/mps-from-all-sides-tell-may-give-us-a-vote-over-brexit-jht5dj5j0\">source from No10 told The Times<\/a>: <em>\u201cWhile Labour are looking for ways to stop Brexit we are focused on delivering on the people\u2019s verdict \u2013 and making a success of it. Of course parliament will have a role in the exit process, but this suggestion [of a vote] is simply an attempt to find another way to thwart the will of the British people.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The PM is under increasing pressure to let the Brexit discussion go to a vote in the House, with even her own MPs rebelling against May\u2019s seemingly preferred<em> \u201chard Brexit\u201d<\/em> option.<\/p>\n<p>Tory heavyweights such as Nicky Morgan and Anna Soubry joined forces with former Labour and Liberal Democrats leaders Ed Miliband and Nick Clegg, calling for a Commons vote. Fellow Tory MP and \u2018Leave\u2019 campaigner Stephen Phillips dubbed the lack of discussion about Brexit in Parliament a <em>\u201ctyranny.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Phillips has now been granted permission by Speaker John Bercow to gather the support of MPs for an urgent debate on Brexit this Tuesday. Commenting on the calls for Brexit to be debated in Parliament, he <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-3829212\/They-won-t-accept-EU-vote-MPs-demand-given-veto-hard-Brexit-Ed-Miliband-claims-voters-didn-t-want-leave-single-market.html\">told the Daily Mail<\/a>\u00a0it was <em>\u201ctime for pro-EU fanatics to accept the result of the referendum.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cEd Miliband ought to reflect on the fact that one of the biggest votes to leave the EU came in his Doncaster North constituency. Not only is he spectacularly out of touch with his own constituents, he now wants to treat them with contempt.
