{"id":258863,"date":"2016-07-29T18:19:26","date_gmt":"2016-07-29T18:19:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/newswire\/london-police-filmed-pinning-down-putting-hood-on-young-black-man-over-train-station-tiff-video\/"},"modified":"2016-07-29T21:54:43","modified_gmt":"2016-07-29T21:54:43","slug":"london-police-filmed-pinning-down-putting-hood-on-young-black-man-over-train-station-tiff-video","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/latest-news\/london-police-filmed-pinning-down-putting-hood-on-young-black-man-over-train-station-tiff-video\/","title":{"rendered":"London police filmed pinning down, putting hood on young black man over train station tiff (VIDEO)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Police have launched an internal inquiry after footage emerged of a young black man being pinned to the ground by a group of officers and having a spit hood placed over his head at a London train station.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>IK Aihie, 20, was detained by British Transport Police at London Bridge Station on July 21.<\/p>\n<p>The officers claim Aihie became <em>\u201caggressive\u201d<\/em> after they intervened in an argument between him and his girlfriend.<\/p>\n<p>Police say he threatened to spit at them, so they placed a covering called a <em>\u201cspit guard\u201d<\/em> over his head, which is designed to protect officers from prisoners biting and spitting.<\/p>\n<p>The footage shows Aihie yelling<em> \u201cit hurts, it hurts,\u201d<\/em> as he is pinned to the ground.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/las1O18GI8w\" width=\"900\" height=\"506\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Aihie\u2019s girlfriend, Jessica McConkey, can be seen begging witnesses to film the incident, calling his treatment<em> \u201cdisgusting.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cHe\u2019s a young black boy, he\u2019s had an argument with his girlfriend, that\u2019s it. You have an argument with your girlfriend and that happens,\u201d<\/em> she can be heard saying.<\/p>\n<p>When officers put the hood on Aihie, passengers can be heard saying: <em>\u201cWhat the hell are you putting on his head?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>McConkey told the Guardian:<em> \u201cBoth IK and I are law-abiding citizens and have the utmost respect for the police force and the work they do.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cHowever, in this instance we were treated unfairly and the use of force during IK\u2019s arrest was excessive and unwarranted and I have made a complaint to the British Transport Police.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Aihie told the newspaper: <em>\u201cIt was a completely terrifying experience for both of us and I\u2019ve been left bruised and shaken. I\u2019ve never been arrested before and I certainly don\u2019t intend to be ever again.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The footage was filmed by a commuter, Ayda Mosharraf.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI saw the guy getting arrested. They were getting pinned to the wall and he was asking why he was being arrested. He was saying, \u2018what are you arresting me for? I want to know\u2019 and they weren\u2019t answering,\u201d Mosharraf told the Guardian.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThat was making him frustrated. He said, \u2018I haven\u2019t done anything wrong.\u2019\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI\u2019ve never witnessed anything like that before. I\u2019ve never seen an arrest like that. I didn\u2019t know &#8211; is that the usual way you arrest somebody? Putting on the spit hood &#8211; what was the reason for that? <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI didn\u2019t see him spit and I was so close.
