WikiLeaks possesses \u201ca lot more\u201d documents to surprise American voters ahead of the upcoming presidential elections – and will not hesitate to make them public.<\/p>\n
The leak of 20,000 internal emails from the Democratic National Committee (DNC), published by the whistleblowing website on July 22 \u201cis having so much political impact in the United States,\u201d<\/em> Julian Assange acknowledged to CNN in a Skype interview on Tuesday.<\/p>\n Speaking to America\u2019s primary media outlet from the safety of Ecuadorian embassy in London, the WikiLeaks founder refused to disclose the source of the leaked batch of DNC emails, particularly avoiding denial or to confirmation of alleged Russian involvement, much talked about by Hillary Clinton\u2019s campaign headquarters. He explained his lack of responsiveness by an obligation to protect WikiLeaks\u2019 information sources.<\/p>\n \u201cPerhaps one day the source or sources will step forward and that might be an interesting moment. Some people may have egg on their faces,\u201d<\/em> Assange said. \u201cBut to exclude certain actors is to make it easier to find out who our sources are. So we never do it.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n The famous whistleblower said that Hillary Clinton\u2019s aides are focusing public\u2019s attention on the unsubstantiated \u201cRussian trail\u201d in the delicate situation they had found themselves in. This is instead of trying to address the principle issue of the DNC email scandal: roughly plotting against rival Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders. The hacked letters cover the period from January to late May this year.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat we have right now is the Hillary Clinton campaign using a speculative allegation about hacks that have occurred in the past to try and divert attention from our emails, another separate issue that WikiLeaks has published,\u201d<\/em> Assange said.<\/p>\n \u201cI think this raises a very serious question, which is that the natural instincts of Hillary Clinton and the people around her, that when confronted with a serious domestic political scandal, that she tries to blame the Russians, blame the Chinese, etc.,\u201d<\/em> Assange noted.<\/p>\n “If she does that when she\u2019s in government, that\u2019s a political, managerial style that can lead to conflict,\u201d<\/em> he concluded.<\/p>\n A Kremlin spokesman has rejected allegations about Moscow\u2019s possible role in the hacking of US Democratic Party emails published by WikiLeaks last week, calling such accusations “absurd.”<\/em><\/p>\n “This is not good for our bilateral relations, but we understand that we simply have to get through this unpleasant period,”<\/em> Dmitry Peskov said.<\/p>\n Republican candidate Donald Trump himself laughed at Clinton headquarters\u2019 allegations about him having ties with Moscow.<\/p>\n In order to try and deflect the horror and stupidity of the Wikileakes disaster, the Dems said maybe it is Russia dealing with Trump.
