On Sunday morning, a suicide car bomber disguised as a policeman attacked the police headquarters in the Iraqi city of Kirkuk, killing 36 people and wounding 105 in the blast, according to the New York Times. Three more attackers were also killed as they rushed the building on foot.<\/p>\n

The New York Times:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Faris Mustafa, a police officer who also was wounded, said: \u201cI saw the three suicide bombers running into the police building. They were throwing hand grenades at us. We opened fire on them and killed them immediately.\u201d<\/p>\n

No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack. Kirkuk\u2019s governor blamed terrorist gangs seeking to destabilize the city, about 180 miles north of Baghdad.<\/p>\n
