If you\u2019ve eaten at a Noodles &amp; Company restaurant in the first half of this year, you may want to keep a close watch on your credit card statement. The pasta chain experienced a data breach that may have put customers\u2019 information at risk.<\/p>\n<div readability=\"76.782449725777\">\n<p>Noodles began investigating<em> \u201cunusual activity\u201d<\/em> reported by its credit card processor on May 17, the company said in a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.noodles.com\/security\/\">statement<\/a>. At the beginning of June, Noodles &amp; Company <em>\u201cdiscovered suspicious activity on its computer systems that indicated a potential compromise of guests\u2019 debit and credit card data for some debit and credit cards used\u201d<\/em> in locations across 27 states and the District of Columbia.<\/p>\n<div class=\"arcticle__read-more read-more\">\n<p>Read more<\/p>\n<p>    <a class=\"read-more__link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.rt.com\/usa\/326168-hiv-dating-app-leak\/\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/>\n                    <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"read-more__cover\" src=\"https:\/\/img.rt.com\/files\/2015.12\/thumbnail\/5671b201c4618809228b45f2.jpg\" alt=\"\u00a9 hzoneapp.com\"\/><br \/>\n    <\/a>\n<\/div>\n<p>The investigation revealed that <em>\u201cmalware may have stolen credit or debit card data from some credit and debit cards\u201d<\/em> between January 31 and June 2. The at-risk information includes the cardholder\u2019s name, card number, expiration date and card verification value (CVV), the three-digit code on the back of cards.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cNoodles &amp; Company takes the security of our guests\u2019 information extremely seriously, and we apologize for the inconvenience this incident has caused our guests,\u201d<\/em> Kevin Reddy, chairman and CEO of Noodles &amp; Company, said. <em>\u201cWe continue to work with third-party forensic investigators and law enforcement officials to ensure the security of our systems on behalf of our guests.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The incident did not involve any purchases made online at noodles.com, the company said.<\/p>\n<p>Noodles &amp; Company has set up a dedicated assistance line for customers to receive additional information about the incident. Guests can call 888-849-1067, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday (excluding U.S. holidays) or find out more information about the breach and what they can do to better protect against fraud and identity theft at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.noodles.com\/security\">www.noodles.com\/security<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Of the more than 400 affected locations, 60 are in Noodles &amp; Company\u2019s home state of Colorado, the Washington Times reported.<\/p>\n<p>The malware has since been removed from the chain\u2019s computer systems.<\/p>\n<p>Noodles &amp; Company is only the latest in a string of restaurant chains that have experienced data breaches in recent years, including Wendy\u2019s, P.F. Chang\u2019s, Elephant Bar and Landry\u2019s, according to the Nation\u2019s Restaurant News. Both <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rt.com\/usa\/317728-trump-hotels-hacked-data-exposed\/\">Trump<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rt.com\/news\/326924-hyatt-hotels-payment-malware\/\">Hyatt<\/a> hotels have been breached recently; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rt.com\/news\/317388-t-mobile-hack-data\/\">mobile provider T-Mobile<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rt.com\/usa\/229471-us-anthem-hack-attack\/\">health insurer Anthem<\/a> are among other companies that have experienced similar incidents.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rt.com\/usa\/349228-noodles-company-data-breach\/?utm_source=rss&#038;utm_medium=rss&#038;utm_campaign=RSS\">RT<\/a>.
