{"id":251691,"date":"2016-06-24T02:47:43","date_gmt":"2016-06-24T02:47:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/newswire\/results-in-britains-historic-referendum-trickle-in\/"},"modified":"2016-06-24T02:47:43","modified_gmt":"2016-06-24T02:47:43","slug":"results-in-britains-historic-referendum-trickle-in","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/newswire\/results-in-britains-historic-referendum-trickle-in\/","title":{"rendered":"Results in Britain&#039;s historic referendum trickle in"},"content":{"rendered":"<div readability=\"92\">\n<p><strong>Vote counting is under way in Britain after polls have closed in a polarizing referendum on whether to leave or to remain in the European Union (EU), with initial results suggesting the race is much closer than expected.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:rgb(34, 34, 34)\">With results in from the first <\/span><span style=\"color:rgb(64, 64, 64)\">15 counting areas out of\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color:rgb(34, 34, 34)\">382 voting districts, those in favor of ending Britain&#8217;s 43-year membership were on 51.5 percent of the vote, while those wanting to stay in the EU were on 48.5 percent.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Leave campaign did <span style=\"color:rgb(64, 64, 64)\">well in the North-East of England and Wales,\u00a0and the Remain camp is ahead in Scotland and Northern Ireland.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Wow.
