Presumptive Republican nominee for the US presidential election Donald Trump has attacked former Prime Minister Tony Blair for the Iraq War \u201cdisaster,\u201d saying he did a \u201cterrible job\u201d by invading.<\/p>\n
In an interview with ITV, Trump warned that the Chilcot Inquiry into the 2003 invasion, which will finally be published on July 6, will not look good for the former Labour PM.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t see it as war crimes. I just think he goes down as somebody who did a terrible job.<\/em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n \u201c[President George W.] Bush got us into it, that\u2019s a terrible, terrible thing that happened<\/em>,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cTony Blair made a mistake. You can\u2019t just go in haphazardly. You folks got involved in that mess just as we did and now look at it.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Trump said UK leaders should put the needs of their own country before that of America, and would get more respect if they stood up to US presidents.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m surprised somebody would see the Bush relationship as being that important.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Trump also criticized Lord Alan Sugar, who hosts the UK version of the Apprentice, but is critical of the Republican\u2019s campaign.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s small time. Don\u2019t forget that Sugar works for me. Every time he makes money from that show he pays me.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Trump also denied claims he saw Princess Diana as the \u201cultimate trophy wife<\/em>\u201d or had any interest in wooing her despite once claiming he could have \u201cnailed<\/em>\u201d her.<\/p>\n
