{"id":24216,"date":"2013-01-28T21:41:57","date_gmt":"2013-01-28T20:41:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/uk.news.yahoo.com\/murdoch-sorry-israel-cartoon-204157865.html"},"modified":"2013-01-28T21:41:57","modified_gmt":"2013-01-28T20:41:57","slug":"murdoch-sorry-for-israel-cartoon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/breaking-news\/murdoch-sorry-for-israel-cartoon\/","title":{"rendered":"Murdoch sorry for Israel cartoon"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p class=\"first\">Rupert Murdoch has offered a &#8220;major apology&#8221; for a &#8220;grotesque&#8221; cartoon in the Sunday Times that has sparked claims of anti-semitism.<\/p>\n<p>The media mogul took to Twitter to comment on the Gerald Scarfe image, which appears to show Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu paving a wall with the blood and limbs of Palestinians.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Murdoch said in his tweet: &#8220;Gerald Scarfe has never reflected the opinions of the Sunday Times.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Nevertheless, we owe major apology for grotesque, offensive cartoon.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The political cartoon, which was published on Holocaust Memorial Day, shows Mr Netanyahu holding a trowel and carries the lines: &#8220;Israeli elections.
