Brexit campaigners, including UKIP\u2019s Nigel Farage, have shunned support from the French Front National leader, Marine Le Pen, ahead of her controversial visit to Britain.<\/p>\n
Le Pen, who previously compared Muslims praying in the streets to Nazis occupying France, is planning a trip to London at the end of May or early June.<\/p>\n
Farage, leader of the anti-immigration UKIP, told Sky News her visit would be unhelpful to the cause, and he would \u201crather she didn\u2019t come.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0Farage, who once said he\u2019d be concerned if Romanians moved in \u201cnext door,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0has previously accused Le Pen of racism and anti-Semitism.<\/p>\n And Labour MP Gisela Stuart, co-chairman of the official \u201cVote Leave\u201d<\/em> movement, called on Home Secretary Theresa May to ban Le Pen from entering the UK.<\/p>\n \u201cAccordingly, I urge you to exercise your powers under immigration legislation to refuse her admission into the country if and when she attempts to visit the UK,\u201d<\/em> she wrote.<\/p>\n In response, Le Pen defended her actions, telling France 2 television she was \u201csurprised\u201d<\/em> Stuart said nothing of US President Barack Obama\u2019s recent visit and that she not going to \u201cinterfere\u201d<\/em> with British affairs.<\/p>\n The Leave.EU campaign told the Independent that Le Pen was not welcome in the UK.<\/p>\n \u201cWe don\u2019t think her \u2018contribution\u2019 to the Brexit debate is helpful,\u201d<\/em> the group added. \u201cBrits don\u2019t want these leaders lecturing them on how they should vote.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Who wants Brexit? \u2014 Mannfred Nyttingnes (@MannfredNikolai) April 23, 2016<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n Marine Le Pen furious with #Brexit<\/a> campaigners rejecting her offer to come to UK to “help” in Leave campaign.
