(RINF<\/a>) – The political sphere in the West is experiencing thrombosis; elites are clogging up the system with opportunistic theories relating to finance, security\/surveillance and above all, toxic propaganda-overload.\u00a0 Programmes operated\u00a0by elites\u00a0for elites, are everywhere in evidence. The political shift away from the\u00a0need of ‘the people’ to have a voice in the navigation of the-ship-of-state has been insidious and prolonged, with\u00a0truth\u00a0being consigned to the propaganda knackery.\u00a0Social reality\u00a0has been\u00a0rendered mute due to the grip private interest groups have on the body politic\u00a0…and all of this imparting jittery signals to a\u00a0population readying itself for a change of war-lord\u00a0at the White House. The people rightly know that the system is rigged and that nothing will change.<\/p>\n

So it came to pass, America, once touted as the land of the free,\u00a0became sclerotic once it lost\u00a0possession\u00a0of her own spirit…which passed out of the hands of its people and society into the safekeeping of the state. A state where Evangelical Christianity and lust for power and wealth go hand in hand. Evangelical Christianity,\u00a0whose history in American culture\u00a0reaches back\u00a0to the pilgrims\u00a0arriving\u00a0on the\u00a0Mayflower has stayed\u00a0true to\u00a0the narrow precepts that\u00a0contribute to the sclerotic cohesion that defines American unilateralism is this present age.\u00a0The pilgrims\u00a0certainly\u00a0carried the seeds\u00a0of piety that\u00a0became the basic tenets\u00a0of America’s vainglorious adventures into\u00a0erotic and sclerotic exercises at home and abroad…worst case examples being what,\u00a0we\u00a0could simplistically call, foreign policy misadventures. A sclerotic perception of management\u00a0was the force behind the drive to\u00a0institutionalise Christian fundamentalism as a way of advancing the unity of\u00a0the white settler culture. This became the\u00a0model for\u00a0harnessing religion to binary phenomena for the purpose of engendering the delusion of exceptionalism…a pattern\u00a0sickeningly repeated in Australia, Canada and elsewhere,\u00a0whenever the occupation of\u00a0other people’s countries occurred.<\/p>\n

Once the voice-of-the-people became subjugated to\u00a0the state apparatus, elites emerged to reward themselves in every conceivable way. Propaganda\u00a0became the epicentre of\u00a0power once\u00a0it was\u00a0realised that\u00a0it could control media, financial\/banking and the military-industrial-surveillance industries. With so\u00a0many\u00a0resources in their hands,\u00a0and so many defenceless countries to roll over in the pursuit of global dominance, capitalism…which\u00a0means resources in private hands…took to rewriting the rule books in the most egregiously self-righteous way imaginable. Thus was the American Christian-Colonial-Capitalist-Juggernaut born.<\/p>\n

Rule number one\u00a0was to demonise all and sundry; blacken every reputation\u00a0for the\u00a0purpose of dehumanising ‘the other’,\u00a0for whatever reason.\u00a0Rule two was to express\u00a0the desire to delegitimise the rights of others to practice sovereign reality; to vilify their right to\u00a0withstand the pressure to submit to the American model of democracy…a position that\u00a0could reward\u00a0the punter with a green card?\u00a0As of this moment, we witness the self-same methodology appear in the present scramble to elect the next number\u00a0ONE for the White House, with little attention given to America’s brutish military adventures in the Middle East…suffice to say that the American penchant for bullying will no doubt find a suitable candidate to continue the process of institutional bullying through means most covert…as in the case of\u00a0drone warfare not being held to account because no war has been\u00a0declared. The point seems to be that\u00a0if the American Power Elites don’t like the look of any culture foreign to its own economic system and interests, that that in itself\u00a0is reason enough to indiscriminately wreak havoc on their state and slaughter their citizens..<\/p>\n

The point\u00a0illustrated in a poem that appeared anonymously in an early issue of St. Nicholas\u00a0Magazine speaks\u00a0subtly\u00a0of vainglory;<\/p>\n

“Oho!” said the pot to the kettle;<\/p>\n

“You are dirty and ugly and black!<\/p>\n

Sure no one would think you were metal,<\/p>\n

Except when you’re given a crack.”<\/p>\n

“Not so! not so! kettle said to the pot;<\/p>\n

“tis your own dirty image you see;<\/p>\n

For I am so clean-without blemish or blot-<\/p>\n

That your blackness is mirrored in me.”<\/p>\n

Politics has become more about technocratic management than about social change. The military-industrial-surveillance ‘technos’ have developed very sophistic means of\u00a0projecting feelings of vulnerability and personal insecurity amongst the general population in relation to threats from outside the state. Negative emotions are encouraged anywhere from the micro-level of interpersonal relationships, all the way up to the macro-level of international politics where\u00a0all vectors\u00a0are controlled by the propagandists who constitute the intelligence-community. The purpose is always the same; focus the citizenry on some external threat.<\/p>\n

More than 3,000 government and private organisations are involved in intelligence activities at 17,000 locations across the U.S., and the CIA’s operations have been folded into those of the office of National Intelligence. Over the past decade, the Federal Government has devoted $533 billion to the acquisition of what former Vice President Al Gore in 2013 described as “the essential apparatus of a police state.”<\/p>\n

The assault on truth has its source in\u00a0covert agencies. The plot to call the foreign kettles black was always about the fear of losing what America had taken possession of…territories and market share and it’s own home-grown brand of exceptionalism. Eisenhower authorised the CIA to assassinate Patrice Lumumba in the Congo\u00a0and Fidel Castro in Cuba and to begin covert military operations in South Vietnam because they had the audacity to dream of forming their own nation states.. The American Empire was born\u00a0of a placenta\u00a0rich in military-stem-cells, that came to ‘maturity’\u00a0in the second half of the 20th. century and quickly\u00a0became a monster set on arrogating the resources of the world to its own greedy self.\u00a0The public conveniently believed the propaganda that informed them that\u00a0America was\u00a0exceptional…that whiteness was exceptional\u00a0too… and that they were born to be masters of the universe<\/p>\n

So\u00a0over time, the Empire became a continuum feeding lies to the public while covertly hatching plots\u00a0to undermine the regimes it perceived to be anti-capitalist. The CIA directed the elimination of regimes it identified as communist in Iran…the overthrow of Mohammad\u00a0Mosaddegh’s elected government in Iran in 1953 was plot writ large…and Guatemala and the Congo had to be taken down too, plot-wise .\u00a0Leaders of the regimes in question were socialist and nationalist, their objective to escape the bonds of European colonial empires…and these are but the tip of the covert iceberg.<\/p>\n

So in the Alice-in-Wonderland world that is America; where socialism is a dirty word, and militarism and patriotism are squeaky clean ones, there doesn’t seem to be much hope of ridding the country of its\u00a0arrogant overlords. When the Mayflower arrived at Cape Cod on November 1620 carrying much military equipment…armour, muskets, gunpowder and shot…and a ‘minion’ cannon, which was brass and weighing about 1,200 pounds and could shoot a 3.5 pound cannonball almost a mile, ‘shaker cannon of about 800 pounds, and two base cannons that weighted about 200 pounds which shot a 3 to 5 ounce ball, was there a Madeleine Albright amongst the\u00a0Bible-carrying pilgrims who asked\u00a0“What the point of having this superb military equipment that we’re always talking about, if we can’t use it?”<\/p>\n

History has shown us, that occupying forces always use this sort of backup… always use force to achieve their ends…the ‘Pilgrims’ soon fell to kiss the earth of their newly acquired territory before falling on the hapless people who were already there.\u00a0Some time later in history, the same pattern\u00a0is evident in Australia, when British standing-army tactics were employed to destroy the indigenous people’s culture and habitat.<\/p>\n

History forever repeats itself it seems; despite the fact that\u00a0the bully’s typically denigrating activities are always aimed at the weak…the bully’s targets…the true source of such negativity is ultimately found in the bully’s own lack of equitable understanding of the ‘Other’ because he believes using knuckle dusters\u00a0is the best way of achieving a fait accompli\u00a0…hence the absence of any real diplomatic skills requiring empathy etc.,.<\/p>\n

The Middle East\u00a0was pulverised\u00a0into spaghetti sauce…still is…\u00a0because someone thought (thinks), “What’s the use in having ‘IT’, if we can’t use IT?”…Why isn’t acknowledging the wasted lives and wasted treasure\u00a0that went into America’s reckless use of force in the Middle East and elsewhere,\u00a0not the\u00a0central\u00a0platform\u00a0in this election year in America?…or\u00a0has the pot lost the plot and the kettle its ability to whistle?<\/p>\n
