{"id":229387,"date":"2016-03-06T12:44:33","date_gmt":"2016-03-06T12:44:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/?p=229387"},"modified":"2016-03-06T12:44:57","modified_gmt":"2016-03-06T12:44:57","slug":"uk-suppresses-documents-gitmo-torture-collusion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/latest-news\/uk-suppresses-documents-gitmo-torture-collusion\/","title":{"rendered":"UK suppresses documents on Gitmo \u2018torture collusion\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><strong>The British government is withholding key documents which could shed light on allegations of UK&#8217;s involvement in the torture of detainees in Guantanamo prison, according to a new report.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A number of files have been recently found which reveal confidential exchanges between top former US and UK authorities on the torture and rendition of detainees.<\/p>\n<p>Based on a lawsuit by a British parliamentary group, the US administration is obliged to make public documents which relate to Britain&#8217;s involvement.<\/p>\n<p>Former Guantanamo detainees have previously said British officials have either been present at, or submitted questions for, \u201cextreme\u201d interrogation by US officials, according to the Independent.<\/p>\n<p>The documents indicate that former UK prime minister Tony Blair and former US president George W.
