Fox News Channel host Bill O\u2019Reilly lost custody of his teenage children over allegations of domestic abuse by his ex-wife.<\/p>\n
The New York Appellate Division unanimously ruled that O\u2019Reilly\u2019s 13- and 17-year-old children should live full time with their mother, Maureen McPhilmy, who was married to the conservative commentator for 15 years.<\/p>\n
A 1,400 word opinion<\/a>\u00a0using anonymous names was issued by the court last week, but the media only figured out who it was this week.<\/p>\n The ruling states it was the \u201cclearly stated preferences of the children\u201d<\/em> to live with McPhilmy, citing their \u201cage and maturity\u201d<\/em> as well as \u201cthe home environment provided\u201d<\/em> by her.<\/p>\n I just saw that Bill O’Reilly lost custody of his kids and now I’m in such a good mood I’ll get a lot of stuff done that I was putting off.<\/p>\n \u2014 john trowbridge (@JohnTrowbridge) February 29, 2016<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n <\/p>\n <\/center><\/div>\n This affirms the original ruling by Nassau County Supreme Court in May 2015, which O\u2019Reilly had appealed to delay its enforcement, Gawker reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n O\u2019Reilly and McPhilmy will share legal custody in material matters concerning the children, such as schooling, medical care, and religious guidance.<\/p>\n Following the initial ruling last year, it emerged<\/a>\u00a0O\u2019Reilly\u2019s 17-year-old daughter claimed she had witnessed O\u2019Reilly \u201cchoking her mom\u201d<\/em> and that he had \u201cdragged her down some stairs\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n She has said she found O\u2019Reilly\u2019s temper \u201cscary\u201d<\/em> and also branded him an \u201cadulterer\u201d<\/em> and an absentee father as he was \u201cnever around\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n Bill O’Reilly dragged his wife down a flight of stairs by the neck and is losing custody of his kids.
