{"id":20244,"date":"2013-01-13T12:08:29","date_gmt":"2013-01-13T11:08:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.presstv.ir\/detail\/2013\/01\/13\/283306\/egypt-court-accepts-mubarak-appeal\/"},"modified":"2013-01-13T12:08:29","modified_gmt":"2013-01-13T11:08:29","slug":"egypt-court-accepts-mubarak-appeal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/breaking-news\/egypt-court-accepts-mubarak-appeal\/","title":{"rendered":"Egypt court accepts Mubarak appeal"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"divDetailBody\">\n<p>An Egyptian court has accepted an appeal by former President Hosni Mubarak over his life sentence for his involvement in the death of hundreds of people during the 2011 revolution, ordering a retrial.<\/p>\n<p>The Court of Cassation granted ousted Egyptian leader an appeal over his life sentence on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>On June 2, Mubarak was found responsible for the deaths of some 900 pro-democracy protesters killed by regime forces seeking to suppress the revolutionary move and sentenced to life in prison.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;The court has ruled to accept the appeal filed by the defendants &#8230; and orders a retrial,&#8221; said Judge Ahmed Ali Abdel Rahman after a brief hearing.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\nOn December 27, Mubarak was transferred from prison to a military hospital after breaking his ribs in a fall in prison in mid-December.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The retrial will be based on the same evidence used in the previous trial.
