{"id":181986,"date":"2015-09-16T19:39:47","date_gmt":"2015-09-16T19:39:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/?p=181986"},"modified":"2015-09-16T19:40:34","modified_gmt":"2015-09-16T19:40:34","slug":"cassetteboy-v-cameron-mashup-artists-mock-torys-corbyn-attack-ad-video","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/breaking-news\/cassetteboy-v-cameron-mashup-artists-mock-torys-corbyn-attack-ad-video\/","title":{"rendered":"Cassetteboy v Cameron: Mashup artists mock Tory\u2019s Corbyn \u2018attack ad\u2019 (VIDEO)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Satirical video editors Cassetteboy have released a new video poking fun at the Conservative Party\u2019s \u2018attack ad\u2019 against newly-elected Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Cassetteboy, who has over 100,000 followers on YouTube, is famous for cutting and editing speeches to turn seemingly innocuous phrases into politically cutting videos.<\/p>\n<div class=\"rtcode\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/embed.theguardian.com\/embed\/video\/news\/video\/2015\/sep\/15\/cassetteboy-cameron-corbyn-video\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In the latest outing, Cassetteboy has spliced together speeches from David Cameron\u2019s speeches to create a witty critique of the Conservative Party\u2019s scare movie that took Jeremy Corbyn\u2019s words on the death of Osama Bin Laden out of context.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Is David Cameron a threat to context?\u2019 remixes the PM\u2019s words to make it appear as though Cameron holds \u201c<em>contempt for the poorest in the country<\/em>\u201d and wants to \u201c<em>kick the sick<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the video, Cameron thinks \u201c<em>you\u2019re either rich or you\u2019re dead<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a reference to the 1.21 minute attack ad released by the Tories shortly after Corbyn became Labour leader, Cassetteboy claims the PM \u201c<em>takes opponents words out of context<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The video adds that Cameron \u201c<em>turns video black and white to make it look scary\u201d and \u201cinsults the electorate with shoddy attack ads<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Conservatives were left red-faced after being forced to temporarily remove their YouTube video attacking Corbyn because it breached copyright rules.<\/p>\n<p>Freelance videographer Adrian Cousins lodged a copyright claim stating his material had been featured in the film without his permission.<\/p>\n<p>The video, titled \u2018Labour: a threat to our national security\u2019, selectively quotes the Islington MP calling Palestine\u2019s Hamas and Lebanon\u2019s Hezbollah \u201c<em>friends<\/em>,\u201d and points out he once called the 2011 assassination of Osama Bin Laden at the hands of US special forces a \u2018tragedy\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>It also highlights his well-known opposition to the renewal of Britain\u2019s Trident nuclear weapons arsenal and claims he would see Britain\u2019s armed forces disbanded.<\/p>\n<p>The video uses sinister music and black-and-white footage to create a \u2018scary\u2019 atmosphere.<\/p>\n<p>A number of Conservative figures, including Prime Minister David Cameron, tweeted on Sunday that Labour is now a threat to \u201c<em>our national security, our economic security and your family\u2019s security<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The suggestion was ridiculed on social media, with public figures including activist and Queen guitarist Brian May asking if it was some kind of joke.<\/p>\n<p>Corbyn has insisted that when he referred to delegations from Hamas and Hezbollah as \u2018friends,\u2019 he did so in the context of discussing a resolution to the Middle East conflict.<\/p>\n<p>The Labour leader\u2019s comments concerning Bin Laden were also taken out of context by the Tory video.<\/p>\n<p>Corbyn told Press TV at the time of Bin Laden\u2019s death: \u201c<em>No attempt whatsoever that I can see to arrest [Bin Laden] and put him on trial, to go through that process<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>This was an assassination attempt, and is yet another tragedy, upon a tragedy, upon a tragedy<\/em>,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Via <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rt.com\/uk\/315556-cassetteboy-v-cameron-mashup-artists\/?utm_source=rss&amp;utm_medium=rss&amp;utm_campaign=RSS\">RT<\/a>.\u00a0This piece was reprinted by <a href=\"http:\/\/rinf.com\">RINF Alternative News<\/a> with permission or license.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Satirical video editors Cassetteboy have released a new video poking fun at the Conservative Party\u2019s \u2018attack ad\u2019 against newly-elected Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn.
