Bush, was wrong to push \u201cdemocracy\u201d on Iraq.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m not one who thinks that our particular template of democracy is appropriate for other countries at every moment of their histories. The idea that we could fashion a democracy in Iraq seemed to me unrealistic,&#8221; Rumsfeld said in a wide-ranging interview with <em>The Times<\/em> of London.<\/p>\n<p>Rumsfeld, one of the chief architects of the 2003 invasion of Iraq, said he became \u201cconcerned\u201d when he first heard the idea of a democratic Iraq, floated by former president Bush.<\/p>\n<p>The former Pentagon chief also criticized President Barack Obama\u2019s approach towards the ISIL terrorist group, controlling large parts of Iraq and Syria.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe movement for a caliphate, the movement against nation states is central and fundamental, and no one\u2019s talking about it,\u201d Rumsfeld said, referring to the ISIL\u2019s self-proclaimed caliphate in Iraq and Syria.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"image\"><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.presstv.ir\/Detail\/2015\/06\/09\/415050\/Bush-wrong-on-Iraq-Rumsfeld--\">Read more<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Former US defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld says his commander-in-chief, George W.
