{"id":157434,"date":"2015-06-08T16:48:30","date_gmt":"2015-06-08T16:48:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/?p=157434"},"modified":"2015-06-08T16:48:30","modified_gmt":"2015-06-08T16:48:30","slug":"los-angeles-protesters-demand-justice-ezell-ford","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/breaking-news\/los-angeles-protesters-demand-justice-ezell-ford\/","title":{"rendered":"Los Angeles protesters demand justice for Ezell Ford"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"item-text\">\n<p><strong>Protesters in Los Angeles have gathered in front of the\u00a0<\/strong><strong>house of\u00a0<\/strong><strong>M<\/strong><strong>ayor Eric Garcetti, calling for action over the last summer\u2019s fatal shooting of unarmed, mentally ill black man Ezell Ford.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The protesters, part of the Black Lives Matter movement, with pictures of the black man arrived in front the mayor\u2019s house early Sunday morning and planned to stay until Tuesday, when the results of an investigation into Ford&#8217;s August 11 death will be released.<\/p>\n<p>They were seeking a sit-down with the mayor before Tuesday. They demanded that Los Angeles Police\u00a0Department Chief Charlie Beck be fired.<\/p>\n<p>Beck and the Police Department&#8217;s independent watchdog determined on Friday that two officers were justified in the killing of Ford.<\/p>\n<p>The protesters said if the mayor does not take action, he would lose their votes.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The mayor&#8217;s house is intimate,&#8221; said Patrisse Cullors, co-founder of Black Lives Matter movement. &#8220;Ezell Ford was murdered on his block and we want to bring the stories of black folks and what we face on a daily basis to the front of Mayor Garcetti&#8217;s house.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure class=\"image\"><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.presstv.ir\/Detail\/2015\/06\/08\/414844\/US-Los-Angeles--Ezell-Ford-Mayor-Eric-Garcetti\">Read more<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Protesters in Los Angeles have gathered in front of the\u00a0house of\u00a0Mayor Eric Garcetti, calling for action over the last summer\u2019s fatal shooting of unarmed, mentally ill black man Ezell Ford.
