Biotech company Monsanto is helping fund a \u201creporter boot camp\u201d that will be hosted by the National Press Foundation, featuring an all-expense-paid journalism conference called \u201cFood, From Farm to Table.\u201d<\/p>\n
The event includes a visit to an organic farm and Monsanto\u2019s research lab.<\/p>\n
Twenty journalists will be selected<\/a> as National Press Foundation fellows to attend the conference in July, which includes travel, meals and hotel accommodation in St. Louis, Missouri. It offers \u201cto take a holistic look at the issues: hunger, food waste, organic, GMOs, food science, feeding the world\u2019s population, and more.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n National Press Foundation President Sandy Johnson told the Eater website that she initiated the NPF\u2019s sponsorship relationship with Monsanto after attending a dinner party in January and finding herself sitting next to a member of the Monsanto board of directors. Eater asked<\/a> if she was familiar with Monsanto\u2019s controversial reputation.<\/p>\n
