A group of residents in the region of Odessa, one of Ukraine\u2019s largest cities, is trying to break away from the Ukrainian government that was formed after the\u00a0coup<\/span><\/a>\u00a0in Kiev in February 2014.<\/span><\/p>\n As the first anniversary approaches of the\u00a02 May 2014 massacre<\/span><\/a>\u00a0by\u00a0U.S.-backed Ukrainian Government thugs<\/span><\/a>\u00a0against pamphleteers in Odessa\u2019s Trade Unions Building, who had opposed the\u00a022 February 2014 U.S. coup in Ukraine<\/span><\/a>, there has been forming in Odessa a movement for complete independence from the U.S.-coup-imposed Ukrainian regime. Ukraine’s U.S.-imposed regime\u2019s response is to crush this incipient movement before word of its existence can even get out to the rest of the world.<\/span><\/p>\n That May 2nd massacre\u00a0sparked Ukraine\u2019s civil war,<\/span><\/a>\u00a0by terrifying all Ukrainians who respected Russian culture and who considered themselves to be part of it (and such Ukrainians\u00a0dominated the southeastern half of Ukraine<\/span><\/a>). It showed them that the\u00a0rabidly anti-Russian, pro-nazi<\/span><\/a>\u00a0regime which had recently been installed by the U.S., was seeking nothing less than their own destruction. (The scenes from it, and testimony from its witnesses, were absolutely horrific.<\/span><\/a>) Throughout the entire southeastern half of Ukraine\u2019s territory, the Ukrainian President, Viktor Yanukovych, whom Obama\u2019s coup overthrew,\u00a0had received large majority electoral support,<\/span><\/a>\u00a0as a consequence of which, Ukraine\u2019s southeastern half became \u2013 after Obama’s anti-Russian coup \u2013 a tinderbox for civil war, and for potential separation from the northwestern, nazi-tolerant (often even\u00a0overtly pro-Hitler<\/span><\/a>), half of Ukraine.<\/span><\/p>\n Thus, on April 7th, an announcement by P.S. Kovalenko was made of some courageous individuals who on April 6th were attempting to establish the Odessa People\u2019s Republic. The headline was:\u00a0“Odessa People’s Republic\u00a0declared its independence and\u00a0secession from Ukraine.\u201d<\/span><\/a>\u00a0This was a naive thing for them to do, publicly and without any military, opposing a heavily armed nazi regime, as they are doing.<\/span><\/p>\n Then, on April 8th was headlined by them,\u00a0“The head of the Odessa National\u00a0Republic declared the\u00a0intention to unite with the\u00a0Donbass.\u201d<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Donbass is the region, encompassing two major cities to the east of Odessa, Luhansk and Donetsk, and their surrounds,\u00a0the entire area of which had voted 90%+ for Viktor Yanukovych,<\/span><\/a>\u00a0the President whom Obama overthrew in the February 2014 coup, the coup in which America’s CIA paid the Right Sector army of the Hitler-admiring\u00a0Dmitriy Yarosh<\/span><\/a>\u00a0to dress like state security troops and then to gun down anti-Yanukovych demonstrators, so that Yanukovych would be blamed. Yarosh had the key assistance of the head of the other major nazi party in Ukraine, Andriy Parubiy<\/span><\/a>, who had led the Maidan protests that served as PR cover for the coup. But the actual troops were Yarosh\u2019s; they were Right Sector \u2013 the same far-right group who organized and largely executed the May 2nd massacre in Odessa.<\/span><\/p>\n On April 11th was bannered,\u00a0“About the situation in the capital\u00a0of the Odessa national Republic.\u201d<\/span><\/a>\u00a0This reported that:<\/span><\/p>\n The security forces (SBU) arrested several dozen residents of\u00a0Odessa, supporters of New Russia.\u00a0Those arrested were subjected to\u00a0severe torture.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n Here is the text of the official statement sent by\u00a0the head of the EPD\u00a0[People\u2019s Republic of Odessa]:\u00a0\u00a0<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n “Odessa again, is choking on the blood of their sons.\u00a0At this time, the Nazis\u00a0did not wait for May to act.\u00a0Punishers of ‘Security Service of Ukraine’\u00a0arrested several dozen supporters of the New Russia.\u00a0According to\u00a0information received, they are now trying the most sophisticated, almost\u00a0medieval torture-methods.\u00a0I was told about this by reliable and trusted sources.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cOn the outskirts of the city there were created some form of ‘national guard’.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n Taking this opportunity, I would like to refer to the movement “Antimaydan”\u00a0some leaders who for some unknown reason, I have ranked me to the\u00a0‘agent of the SBU.’\u00a0I would like to know: on the basis of what you have\u00a0done such a strange thing (that has nothing to do with reality). [He is saying that he supports the anti-corruption sentiments of the vast majority of Maidan demonstrators but not the nazis who used them as cover for Obama\u2019s coup.]\u00a0The time will come when you will be ashamed of that accusation.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cLong live the united and indivisible Novorossia!<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cChairman of the Council of Ministers of the People’s Republic of Odessa<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cKovalenko, PS<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cBalta city, 04\/10\/2015\u201d<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n During the months following the May 2nd massacre, the Obama-installed regime had repeatedly insulted Odessans, and reasserted its hostility and contempt toward them. In fact, President Poroshenko, who was \u2018elected’ in an election among only far-right candidates that was held only outside Donbass and mainly in the northwest<\/span><\/a>, actually went to Odessa on 13 November 2014 and he\u00a0insulted the people there by saying<\/span><\/a>, in a nationally televised \u201cus\u201d versus \u201cthem\u201d tirade that clearly left the vast majority of Odessans as being in the \u201cthey\u201d category:<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe will have our jobs. They will not. We will have\u00a0our pensions. They will not. We will have care for children, for people,\u00a0and retirees. They will\u00a0not. Our children will go to schools and\u00a0kindergartens. Theirs will hole up in basements [from our bombs].\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n And that\u2019s what he actually did;\u00a0he specifically targeted schools<\/span><\/a>. A retired Ukrainian general whose sympathies had been with Hitler\u2019s troops displayed the nerve to respond to a Ukrainian soldier\u2019s statement that his function was ethnic cleansing, by\u00a0saying on a U.S.-funded television station in Ukraine,<\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u201cI want to offer the Ukrainian artillerists medals, to those who shell the city\u00a0[Donetsk], the houses and the civilian population, \u2026 for they [artillerists] have\u00a0deserved it [medals]. \u2026 The shelling there is done as\u00a0intimidation, \u2026 not just object destruction, but intimidation [to get the population to\u00a0flee to nearby Russia].\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In other words: by bombing and shelling the schools, hospitals, etc., in Donetsk, Lugansk and the surrounding regions, that land will become uninhabitable or intolerable, so that even the survivors will need to flee to nearby Russia. This way, the Western aristocrats who want to buy dirt-cheap access to that region\u2019s natural resources (and such privatization of state assets is demanded \u2018reform\u2019 of Ukraine by the U.S.-controlled IMF) will not be bothered by the locals who object to the ripping-up of the land on which they live. Those locals will be dead or otherwise gone.<\/span><\/p>\n So, whereas the residents in Odessa are probably overwhelmingly in support of the local separatists\u2019 goal, they will be too terrified of the U.S.-imposed regime to back publicly any such breakaway movement.<\/span><\/p>\n This is how the U.S., under the Obama regime, no less than under that of his Republican predecessor, is spreading \u2018democracy.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n Here is Poroshenko receiving multiple standing ovations during his speech to a joint session of the U.S. Congress on 18 September 2014, asking for U.S. taxpayers to send him U.S.-made weapons.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n And then, virtually 100% of the U.S. Congress voted to donate to his regime these weapons.<\/span><\/a> They did this on 11 December 2014, almost a month after he had told the people who reject the U.S.-imposed government that, \u201cOur children will go to schools and\u00a0kindergartens. Theirs will hole up in basements [from our bombs].\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n This land-clearing operation is being done via tanks and bombers, not via bulldozers. Bullets, bombs (and often landmines), are the technique that\u2019s used. Those locals will be dead or otherwise gone.<\/span><\/p>\nSo, whereas the residents in Odessa are probably overwhelmingly in support of the local separatists\u2019 goal, they will be too terrified of the U.S.-imposed regime to back publicly any such breakaway movement.<\/span><\/p>\nThis is how the U.S., under the Obama regime, no less than under that of his Republican predecessor, is spreading \u2018democracy.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\nHere is Poroshenko receiving multiple standing ovations during his speech to a joint session of the U.S. Congress on 18 September 2014, asking for U.S. taxpayers to send him U.S.-made weapons.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\nAnd then, virtually 100% of the U.S. Congress voted to donate to his regime these weapons.<\/span><\/a> They did this on 11 December 2014, almost a month after he had told the people who reject the U.S.-imposed government that, \u201cOur children will go to schools and\u00a0kindergartens. Theirs will hole up in basements [from our bombs].\u201d<\/span><\/p>\nThis land-clearing operation is being done via tanks and bombers, not via bulldozers. Bullets, bombs (and often landmines), are the technique that\u2019s used.
