Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk, who\u00a0on 4 February 2014 was selected for his post by Victoria Nuland of the U.S. State Department<\/span><\/a>, was quoted by Ukrainian media on Thursday March 12th of 2015 as\u00a0saying<\/span><\/a>\u00a0that, \u201cUkraine is in a state of war with a nuclear state, which is the Russian Federation. Hostile countries over the past decade have spent billions of dollars rearming it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n His quoted statement went on to blame Ukraine\u2019s problems on Russia: \u201cThe country [Ukraine] is billions of dollars in debt, having been a corrupt and demoralized nation that has no gas in storage and no dollars to buy it. \u2026 [Russia] destroyed 20% of Ukraine\u2019s economy, bombed the mines in the fighting, and produced a million displaced persons, who, as a result are forced to leave their homes.\u201d [NOTE: Those bombs, some of which were\u00a0firebombs<\/span><\/a>, actually fell from\u00a0Ukrainian Air Force planes, and were supplemented by Ukrainian Army missiles.<\/span><\/a> The resident forces in the rebel area of the southeast that the Ukrainian Government is fighting against had no air force at all until recently, and very little even now. And, of course, any \u201crearming\u201d of Russia is being done by Russia, not by \u201cHostile countries over the past decade.\u201d]<\/span><\/p>\n The next day, March 13th, the same Ukrainian \u2018news\u2019 source headlined\u00a0\u201cMilitants in the Donbass Are Professional Soldiers Led by the Army of the Russian Federation,\u201d<\/span><\/a>\u00a0and \u2018reported\u2019 that, “Military units of illegal armed groups \u2018DNR’ and \u2018LC’\u00a0are formed on the organizational structure of Russian\u00a0military units, and the main staff and command\u00a0positions are appointed by the Russian officers. This was announced during a briefing for foreign\u00a0journalists on the situation in the Donbas by Deputy Chief\u00a0of Staff, Colonel Valentin Fedichev of the ATO [Anti Terrorist Operation].\u201d [NOTE: On 29 January 2015, the Chief of Staff of Ukraine\u2019s Armed Forces\u00a0said<\/span><\/a>\u00a0that, at least as of that moment in time, there were no Russian troops fighting against the Ukrainian Government\u2019s forces, but only a few individual volunteers from Russia. There are likewise individual volunteers from several countries who are fighting for the Ukrainian Government. In addition, there are military advisors in the war from the U.S. and from Russia.]<\/span><\/p>\n On 7 January 2015, Yatsenyuk\u00a0said in Germany:<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cRussian aggression in Ukraine is an attack on\u00a0world order and order in Europe. All of us still\u00a0clearly remember the Soviet invasion of Ukraine\u00a0and Germany. That has to be avoided. And\u00a0nobody has the right to rewrite the results of the\u00a0Second World War.
