Newsweek<\/i> magazine headlined on February 5th,\u00a0\u201c\u2018Biggest NATO Reinforcement Since Cold War\u2019 Sets Frontlines Against\u00a0Russia,\u201d<\/span><\/a>\u00a0and reported that, “According to general Charles Wald, former-deputy commander of U.S.\u00a0European Command, \u2026 ‘The question for Europe is: is Putin creeping further and further west?\u2019\u201d Wald is quoted as saying that the case of Ukraine especially worries him. This article continues: “‘Is this a precursor to Russia moving into Moldova? Nagorno Karabakh has been\u00a0bubbling up, and the Georgia issue is still unresolved. NATO has essentially set these [new military] bases in its frontline states,’ Wald says,\u00a0referring\u00a0to the countries\u2019 proximity to Russian territory.\u201d So: Russia is moving too close to NATO countries, according to the U.S. \u2018Defense\u2019 Department. <\/span><\/p>\n But it\u2019s a blatant lie.\u00a0Actually,<\/span><\/a>\u00a0since 1999, 11 former members of the Warsaw Pact, countries, which had been allied with Russia during the communist Soviet Union throughout the Cold War, have switched to the U.S. military alliance against their former ally Russia, NATO: Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Albania. <\/span><\/p>\n So: Russia hasn\u2019t been moving at all, not an inch; but the U.S. certainly has \u2013 by surrounding Russia with its NATO missiles.<\/span><\/p>\n This Newsweek<\/i> story is \u2018news\u2019 that\u2019s published in a mainstream U.S. \u2018news\u2019 source, which people pay bad money for \u2013 it\u2019s worse than a waste, it\u2019s their being charged for U.S.-Government propaganda.<\/span><\/p>\n Here<\/i> is authentic news, from an authentic<\/i> news source \u2013 news which had been posted just four days earlier than that Newsweek<\/i> lie, on February 1st \u2013 news that was posted at the Fort Russ blog, which not only is free, but it\u2019s the most thorough and reliably truthful news site of all on the Ukrainian conflict:<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cNATO is moving closer to Russia and blaming Russia for being close to\u00a0NATO.\u201d<\/a><\/span>\u00a0A video is shown there.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n This video, which was posted to youtube on 17 October 2014, shows a Pentagon spokesperson being asked at a\u00a0press conference about ‘Defense\u2019 Secretary Chuck Hagel\u2019s accusation, that Russia\u2019s\u00a0army is \u201con NATO\u2019s doorstep\u201d; and the (extremely unusual, skeptical American journalist) questioner then asks \u201cWhy is that?\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n Hagel\u2019s\u00a0press spokesperson insists there that it happens because Russia has been seizing nations and thus moving closer to NATO;\u00a0he refuses to acknowledge that NATO has instead been expanding up to Russia\u2019s very border, bringing U.S. weapons surrounding Russia\u2019s periphery.\u00a0How would the U.S. react if, say, Russia had tried to install nuclear missiles in, say, Cuba \u2013 like the Soviet Union tried in 1962?<\/span><\/p>\n Here\u2019s that video: https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=LexhW8SCM2c<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n There are lots of reader-comments to that video, many of which are from fools who are treating Russia as being evil and dangerous, and ignoring the insult to their own intelligence that came forth from Chuck Hagel\u2019s spokesperson in this video, which they had just watched.<\/span><\/p>\n However, Fort Russ reports this videoed statement without comment, as being instead a self-evident lie from the U.S. Government, and it is that; not as being (like Newsweek<\/i> does) a supposed truth<\/i> from the U.S. Government, a supposed truth that\u2019s being unchallenged by Newsweek\u2019s<\/i> \u2018journalist,\u2019 though if Newsweek<\/i>\u00a0had been an authentic news-source it would have reported that the U.S. Government was simply lying there \u2013 since that\u2019s the actual fact, and it\u2019s blatantly true.<\/span><\/p>\n As regards the reader-comments to this Newsweek<\/i> article, here\u2019s a typical sequence of these reader-comments, so that you can see how American readers responded to this piece of sheer American propaganda:<\/span><\/p>\n COMMENTS:<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n —-Bong Valencia\u00a0\u00b7\u00a0Don bosco academy pampanga<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n Everybody\u00a0needs to stop calling Ukraine’s enemies as Russian[backed rebels.\u00a0Let’s call a spade a spade.\u00a0Let’s call them Russians!\u00a0They came from\u00a0and were\u00a0sent by Russia.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n \u00b7\u00a024\u00a0\u00b7\u00a0February 5 at 7:57pm<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n —-Kevin Quinn\u00a0\u00b7\u00a0Top Commenter<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n But\u00a0they LIVE in what’s called ‘eastern Ukraine’ and have been there in\u00a0some cases for centuries. This is what I came up with:<\/span><\/p>\n http:\/\/belfercenter.ksg.harvard.edu\/experts\/203\/sergei_konoplyov.html<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n http:\/\/belfercenter.ksg.harvard.edu\/files\/disc_paper_99_08.pdf<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n So: apparently, an \u2018expert\u2019 at Harvard\u2019s Kennedy School, and even one whose sole published work deals with Ukraine, does, indeed, actually think that 85% of the fighters against the Kiev-based Ukrainian Government\u2019s invasion<\/span><\/a> of Ukraine\u2019s Donbass region are Russian soldiers, not residents.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n On that matter, here is the actual evidence (there\u2019s lots of it, but these are perhaps the most striking):<\/span><\/p>\n http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/featured\/ukrainian-government-russian-troops-fighting-us\/<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n http:\/\/ukraina.ru\/news\/20150213\/1012102730.html<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n http:\/\/www.buzzfeed.com\/rosiegray\/heres-the-ukrainian-delegation-that-gave-misleading-photos-t#.rdzqJPe5X<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n Furthermore, to the exact contrary of all the similar allegations by the U.S. Government (which say that Russia wants to add to Russian territory the land where Ukraine\u2019s pro-Russia rebels live), the present reporter had headlined on 19 September 2014, \u201cRussia\u2019s Leader Putin Rejects Ukrainian Separatists\u2019 Aim to Become Part of Russia,\u201d<\/span><\/a> and reported that not only did Putin reject it verbally, but that the Ukrainian separatist leaders took his statement as being his final word on the subject, and so decided \u201cWe will build our own country.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n In other words: the only<\/i> reason why the Obama Administration is pushing the fraudulent<\/i> line that Putin is trying to seize the Donbass region of Ukraine away from Ukraine, is because Barack Obama needs to portray his own sponsorship of an ethnic-cleansing operation to get rid of the residents in Donbass (the rebellious region of Ukraine) as being instead an \u201cAnti Terrorist Operation\u201d by the Government against rebel fighters who (as the Harvard Kennedy School \u2018Expert\u2019 said) \u201c85 % came from Russia.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n We\u2019re supposed to be this stupid, and this misinformed, by a propaganda-line that doesn\u2019t even make sense<\/i> \u2013 the line that says the people who are bombing the residents in Donbass and destroying the region, are the invading Russian army, and\/or the residents who live there (the \u201cTerrorists,\u201d as the Ukrainian Government calls them), instead of being the Government forces that are trying to <\/i>exterminate the residents<\/span><\/a> there, and who are actually <\/i>terrorizing those residents<\/span><\/a> in order to get them <\/i>to die or else to leave Ukraine<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n As to the reason why Obama wants to get rid of those residents, look at this map<\/span><\/a>. It shows the results in the final nationwide Ukrainian Presidential election, the one that was held in 2010 and which pitted the pro-Washington Yulia Tymoshenko against the pro-neutral-Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych. As you can see, the dark purple area is the region that voted 90% for Yanukovych. That\u2019s also the area which the Ukrainian Government has been bombing. If the voters who live there, ever again vote for a President of Ukraine, then Obama\u2019s February 2014 coup which overthrew Yanukovych will be elected out of office: the Obama coup-regime will end. That\u2019s why Obama wants those voters to either die or else leave Ukraine<\/span><\/a>. He needs them gone<\/span><\/a>. (And official Washington wants this mass-murder of them to increase<\/span><\/a>; and this genocidal push is bipartisan<\/span><\/a>, both Republicans and Democrats.)<\/span><\/p>\n No wonder why the U.S. Government keeps lying, and its propaganda-organs (virtually the entire U.S. press) are lying.
