{"id":131091,"date":"2014-07-17T22:17:09","date_gmt":"2014-07-17T22:17:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/?p=131091"},"modified":"2014-07-17T22:17:09","modified_gmt":"2014-07-17T22:17:09","slug":"human-price-neocon-havoc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/politics\/human-price-neocon-havoc\/","title":{"rendered":"The Human Price of Neocon Havoc"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"color: #444444;\"><em>Robert Parry<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\">Whether the tragedy is four boys getting blown apart while playing on a beach in Gaza or nearly 300 killed from a suspected missile strike on a Malaysian Airliner over Ukraine or the thousands upon thousands of other innocent victims slaughtered in Iraq, Syria, Libya and other recent war zones, the underlying lesson is that the havoc encouraged by America\u2019s neocons results in horrendous loss of human life.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\">While clearly other players share in this blame, including the soldiers on the ground and the politicians lacking the courage to compromise, the principal culprits in the bloodshed of the past dozen years have been the neoconservatives and their \u201cliberal interventionist\u201d allies who can\u2019t seem to stop stirring up trouble in the name of \u201cdemocracy\u201d and \u201chuman rights.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #444444;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-131092\" src=\"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/victoria-nuland.jpg\" alt=\"victoria-nuland\" width=\"320\" height=\"240\" srcset=\"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/victoria-nuland.jpg 320w, http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/victoria-nuland-75x56.jpg 75w, http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/victoria-nuland-133x100.jpg 133w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Rather than work out reasonable \u2014 albeit imperfect \u2014 compromises with various foreign leaders, the neocons and their liberal allies insist on ratcheting up demands to such unrealistic levels that conflict becomes inevitable and the outcomes are almost always catastrophic.<\/p>\n<p>In Iraq in 2003, the neocons and many liberal fellow-travelers insisted that the only acceptable solution was the violent removal of Saddam Hussein through an unprovoked U.S. invasion.
