The Tide of Media Lies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Jamal Kanj<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #362f2d;\"><em style=\"font-weight: inherit;\">Seeing \u201cfree\u201d Western media with headlines like \u201cRockets raining over Israel\u201d, or describing the success of Israel\u2019s Iron Dome defence system in intercepting missiles from Gaza, you would assume there was a war between equals \u2014 or even that \u201cpoor Israel\u201d was under attack.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #362f2d;\">Many Western readers won\u2019t know that all of the 100-plus killed since Tuesday \u2014 and practically all of the 700 injured \u2014 are Palestinians, many of them children.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #362f2d;\">Responding to a correspondent who questioned the disproportionate number of civilians killed, including 22 children, CNN anchor Brianna Keilar explained: \u201cYes, Gaza is just so heavily populated. That\u2019s certainly always a side effect and we\u2019re seeing that there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #362f2d;\">\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-130106\" src=\"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/jake-tapper-former-PLO-adviser-israel-hamas-620x421.jpg\" alt=\"jake-tapper-former-PLO-adviser-israel-hamas-620x421\" width=\"620\" height=\"421\" srcset=\"http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/jake-tapper-former-PLO-adviser-israel-hamas-620x421.jpg 620w, http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/jake-tapper-former-PLO-adviser-israel-hamas-620x421-75x51.jpg 75w, http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/jake-tapper-former-PLO-adviser-israel-hamas-620x421-147x100.jpg 147w, http:\/\/rinf.com\/alt-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/jake-tapper-former-PLO-adviser-israel-hamas-620x421-383x260.jpg 383w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #362f2d;\">Officially, White House spokesman Josh Earnest offered unqualified US support for \u201cIsrael\u2019s right to defend itself against these vicious attacks\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #362f2d;\">Yet when that White House statement was issued on Tuesday, not one single Israeli had been hurt. Meanwhile, more than 30 Palestinians, including a whole family, were already dead \u2014 killed by an Israeli army equipped with America\u2019s best technology.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #362f2d;\">Harmless and aimless rockets fired from Gaza are the Palestinians\u2019 only way to fight back.
