The case of accused terrorist Jose Padilla is moving toward a jury trial on April 16 in US District Court in Miami. حالة المتهم الارهابى خوسيه باديلا تتجه الى هيئة المحلفين في محاكمة 16 نيسان (ابريل) في المحكمه الجزءيه الامريكية فى ميامى. It is still unclear whether the presiding judge in the case, Marcia Cooke, will order an evidentiary hearing on Padilla’s motion to dismiss the charges based on the government’s outrageous pre-trial conduct while Padilla was in military custody as an “enemy combatant” in the “war on terror.” (Under post-9/11 jurisprudence, the government has the option of treating accused terrorists either as “enemy combatants” or as federal-court defendants.) ما زال من غير الواضح ما إذا كان القاضي الذي يرأس في القضية ، مارسيا كوك ، من اجل اجراء جلسة للنظر في الادله على الالتماس المقدم من باديلا الى اقالة والتهم على اساس الحكومة الفاحشه ما قبل المحاكمه في حين ان السلوك كان باديا في الحراسه العسكرية بانها "العدو المقاتل "في" الحرب على الارهاب. The government is doing everything it can to prevent the American people from learning what the US military did to Padilla during his three years of pre-trial confinement. الحكومة ستبذل كل ما في استطاعتها لمنع الشعب الامريكى من التعلم ما لم العسكرية الامريكية لباديلا خلال ثلاث سنوات من احتجاز قبل المحاكمه. What never occurred to many Americans was that the military would have the authority to exercise this dictatorial power on them. ابدا ما حدث للكثير من الامريكيين هو ان القوات العسكرية من شانه ان لديها السلطة لممارسة هذه السلطة الديكتاتوريه عليها.
Not surprisingly, federal officials now want to keep Americans from learning the full extent of the federal government’s post-9/11 power over them. وليس من الغريب ان المسؤولين الاتحاديين يريد الآن ان يبقي الاميركيين من التعلم المدى الكامل للالحكومة الاتحادية ما بعد السلطة عليها. That’s why they used their plea bargain with John Walker Lindh, the “American Taliban,” to prohibit him from revealing what they did to him while he was in pre-trial military custody. لهذا السبب كانت المساومه على الاقرار بالذنب مع جون ووكر ليند ، "الطالبان الامريكى" لحظر اليه عن كشف ما فعلوه له بينما كان في السابق للمحاكمة العسكرية رهن الاحتجاز. That’s why they’re fighting fiercely in the Padilla case to keep Americans from learning what they did to Padilla. لهذا السبب انهم القتال بشراسه في قضية باديلا الى ابقاء الأميركيين من التعلم على ما يفعلون باديا. That’s why they’re claiming “national security” to prevent accused terrorist Khalid Sheikh Mohammad and other CIA prisoners from describing the waterboarding and other “alternative” forms of interrogation to which they have been subjected. هذا هو السبب في انهم يدعون "الامن القومي" لمنع المتهم الارهابى خالد شيخ محمد وغيرها من وكالة المخابرات المركزية سجناء من وصف وغيرها من waterboarding "البديله" اشكال الاستجواب التي تعرضت لها.

Reality is that the US military now wields the power to take anyone, including American citizens, into custody as “enemy combatants” in the “war on terror” and to do everything to them that the CIA and the Pentagon have done to other “enemy combatants.” والحقيقة هي ان المءسسه العسكرية للولايات المتحدة الآن يقبض سلطة اتخاذ اي شخص ، بما فيها المواطن الامريكى ، الى الحجز "المقاتلين الاعداء" في "الحرب على الارهاب" وبذل كل ما لهما ان وكالة المخابرات المركزية والبنتاجون عمله لاخرى "العدو المقاتلين ".
Reality is the power to subject American and foreign “enemy combatants” to extreme isolation and sensory deprivation over long periods of time. والحقيقة هي القدرة على الموضوع الامريكية والاجنبية "المقاتلين الاعداء" لاقسي أنواع الحرمان والعزله والحسيه على مدى فترات طويلة من الزمن. That’s what those eerie blacked-out goggles and earmuffs on Padilla were all about. هذا ما eerie تلك blacked - نظارات واقية من اصل وكان باديا على واقيات للاذن عن جميع.
Reality is the government’s power to subject “enemy combatants” to waterboarding and similar forms of “alternative-interrogation techniques.” والحقيقة هي سلطة الحكومة على هذا الموضوع "المقاتلين الاعداء" لwaterboarding واشكال مماثلة من "اساليب الاستجواب البديله".
