Osama bin Laden’s driver walks out on Guantanamo trial اسامة بن لادن السائق يمشي على غوانتانامو للمحاكمة
GUANTANAMO BAY NAVAL BASE, Cuba - APÂ | Osama bin Laden’s former driver walked out on his war-crimes tribunal Tuesday, saying he did not believe justice was possible at the US military base where he has been held for nearly six years. معتقل جوانتانامو ، كوبا -- apâ | اسامة بن لادن على الرئيس السابق للسائق انسحب منه محكمة جرائم الحرب الثلاثاء ، قائلا انه لا يعتقد العدل كان من الممكن في الولايات المتحدة قاعدة عسكرية حيث تم عقد لما يقرب من ست سنوات.
Salim Ahmed Hamdan, a Yemeni, is the fourth alleged al-Qaida operative at Guantanamo Bay to refuse to participate in America’s first US war-crimes courts since World War II — a system that he says lacks the fairness of traditional US courts. سالم أحمد حمدان ، وهو يمني ، هو الرابع المزعوم لتنظيم القاعده في خليج غوانتانامو من المنطوق الى رفض المشاركة فى الولايات المتحدة الامريكية اول محاكم جرائم الحرب منذ الحرب العالمية الثانية â € "ويقول ان نظام يفتقر الى الانصاف التقليديه من دولارات الولايات المتحدة المحاكم.
“I do not want to come to this court because there is no such thing as justice here,” said Hamdan, who smiled as he explained his reasoning in a polite, 40-minute exchange with the judge. "لا اريد ان يأتي لهذه المحكمه لأنه لا يوجد شيء اسمه العدالة هنا" ، وقال حمدان ، من ابتسم له وكما أوضح في التعليل مؤدب ، مدتها 40 دقيقة تبادل مع القاضي.
The judge, Navy Capt. Keith Allred, said he empathized with Hamdan’s frustrations over his prison conditions and the delays in a trial that has been derailed twice by legal challenges. القاضي ، كيث allred البحرية النقيب ، وقال انه مع empathized حمدان الإحباط أكثر من ظروف سجنه ، والتأخير في محاكمة قد تحيد عن مسارها التحديات القانونية مرتين من قبل. Hamdan was captured at a roadblock in southern Afghanistan in November 2001, allegedly with two surface-to-air missiles in the car. حمدان قد اعتقل عند حاجز على الطريق في جنوب افغانستان في تشرين الثاني / نوفمبر 2001 ، مع اثنين من يدعي سطح / جو الصواريخ في السياره. Earlier Tuesday, Hamdan’s lead defense attorney said that a second military prosecutor has accused a Pentagon official of manipulating the prosecution of war crime suspects. فى وقت سابق من يوم الثلاثاء ، حمدان تؤدي وقال محامي الدفاع ان المدعي العام العسكري ثانية اتهم مسؤول في البنتاغون بالتلاعب في محاكمة المشتبه في ارتكابهم جرائم حرب.
The Pentagon official, Air Force Brig. وقد قال مسؤول في البنتاغون للقوات الجوية العميد. Gen. Thomas Hartmann, allegedly told the prosecutor that certain cases against Guantanamo prisoners should be pursued over others to sway public opinion, military defense lawyer Navy. الجنرال توماس هارتمان ، ويزعم ان المدعي العام قال ان بعض القضايا المرفوعه ضد اسرى غوانتانامو وينبغي السعي الى التأثير على الآخرين الرأي العام ، ومحامي الدفاع العسكرية البحرية. The prosecutor, Army Lt. Col. William Britt, made the allegation in an affidavit submitted in an internal Pentagon investigation of the Office of Military Commissions, which is in charge of prosecuting the Guantanamo prisoners. المدعي العام للجيش اللفتنانت الكولونيل ويليام Britt ، قدم الادعاء في شهادة خطية قدمت في داخلي البنتاغون التحقيق في مكتب اللجان العسكرية ، وهي المسءوله عن محاكمة سجناء غوانتانامو.
Mizer read a portion of the affidavit in court as he sought dismissal of the charges against Hamdan on the grounds that improper meddling by senior officials has tainted the tribunals. Britt told the investigators that Hartmann, whose role is to give legal advice to the military commissions, directed him to pursue certain cases that would “seize the imagination of the American public,” Mizer said in court. Britt للمحققين ان هارتمان ، الذي يتمثل دوره في اعطاء المشوره القانونية الى لجان عسكرية ، وتوجه له لمتابعة بعض الحالات التي من شأنها ان "الاستيلاء على خيال الرأي العام الاميركي ،" mizer قال في المحكمه.
The allegation is significant because Britt would be the second senior member of the prosecution to accuse the Pentagon of manipulating the prosecutions at Guantanamo, where more than 275 men are still held on suspicion of terrorism or links to al-Qaida or the Taliban. الادعاء امر هام لان Britt سيكون ثاني من كبار اعضاء النيابة اتهام البنتاغون بالتلاعب في المحاكمات في غوانتانامو ، حيث يعيش اكثر من 275 من الرجال الذين ما زالوا محتجزين للاشتباه في وصلات إلى الإرهاب أو تنظيم القاعده او حركة طالبان.
On Monday, a former chief prosecutor, Air Force Col. Morris Davis, testified that Pentagon officials stressed that charging high-profile detainees could have political value for US elections and pushed for speedy convictions to keep the system from “imploding.” يوم الاثنين ، الرئيس السابق لداءره المدعي العام ، والقوات الجوية والعقيد موريس ديفيس ، بان البنتاغون اكد المسؤولون ان شحن البارزة المعتقلين يمكن ان يكون القيمه السياسية للانتخابات ودفعت الولايات المتحدة لادانة سريعه الى الابقاء على النظام من "imploding."
Three other detainees earlier indicated they will boycott the Guantanamo trials. ثلاثة محتجزين آخرين اشاروا في وقت سابق مقاطعة محاكمات غوانتانامو. Other military judges have said the trials would continue without the detainees, but defense lawyers have indicated they will challenge orders to defend their clients without consent. العسكرية الاخرى وقال القضاة من شأنه ان تستمر دون محاكمات المعتقلين ، ولكن محامي الدفاع اشاروا الى تحدي الأوامر للدفاع عن موكليهم بدون موافقة.
