Press TV | Iran’s Defense Minister announces plans to unveil 30 new military hardware projects developed by Iranian experts in the upcoming year. Speaking on the sidelines of a Wednesday cabinet meeting, Brigadier General Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar said Iran’s Defense Ministry would unveil projects to mass produce electronic warfare, aerospace, naval, and ground equipment in the coming months.
Referring to the naming of the new Iranian year by the Leader as the year of ‘innovation’ and ‘flourishing’, Najjar described the newly developed equipment as essential for Iran’s Armed Forces.
He added that 70 other new projects had been put on display at a military exhibition staged in the southwestern city of Shiraz.
In response to embargoes imposed on Iran over its nuclear program, the country has launched a campaign for self-sufficiency in its defense industry.
