Calls are growing on Admiral William Fallon and other senior military officers to make a public stand against the Bush administration’s alleged plans to attack Iran. يدعو تنمو على الاميرال وليام Fallon وغيره من كبار الضباط العسكريين الى بذل عموميه تقف ضد ادارة بوش خطط مزعومه للهجوم على ايران. Admiral Fallon’s resignation last week from his position as head of the US Central Command is seen as a blow for those seeking a diplomatic resolution to the current standoff with Iran. الاميرال Fallon استقالة الاسبوع الماضي من منصبه كرئيس للقيادة المركزية الاميركية يعتبر ضربة لأولئك الذين يسعون الى حل دبلوماسي المواجهة الحالية مع ايران. His resignation has drawn demands that he “come clean” as to his reasons for stepping down and expose the true extent of the Bush administration’s plans for military intervention. استقالته وقد وجهت مطالب انه "حان نظيفة" كما ان له اسباب لتخليهم عن وفضح المدى الحقيقي لادارة بوش خطط لتدخل عسكري.

Today the Westminster Committee on Iran claimed that Mr Fallon and other key military and political insiders had a “moral duty” to make public their private reservations and to make a stand against the push for attacks on Iran. اليوم يستمينستر اللجنة على كل من ايران وادعى ان السيد Fallon والأخرى العسكرية والسياسية الرئيسية ، والمطلعين لديها "واجب اخلاقي" لجعل الجمهور مصالحها الخاصة والتحفظات لجعل موقفا معارضا لدفع هجمات على إيران. This call comes in the wake of the British Commons foreign affairs committee report which, this month, warned that “military strikes against Iran are unlikely to succeed and could provoke a violent backlash across the region”. ويأتي هذا النداء في اعقاب البريطانية المشاعات تقرير لجنة الشؤون الخارجية التي ، في هذا الشهر ، وحذر من ان "توجيه ضربات عسكرية الى ايران من غير المرجح ان تنجح ويمكن ان يتسبب في ردود فعل عنيفة في جميع انحاء المنطقة". It is known that many senior military figures in both America and Britain, including some of the Joint Chiefs of Staff have serious reservations about US plans for military intervention against Iran. ومن المعروف ان العديد من كبار الشخصيات العسكرية فى كل من أمريكا وبريطانيا ، بما في ذلك بعض من هيئة الاركان المشتركة دينا تحفظات جدية حول خطط الولايات المتحدة لتدخل عسكري ضد ايران. Mr Fallon reportedly made his opposition to a strike known to the White House early on in his tenure and is believed to have resigned due to pressure from within the Bush administration. السيد Fallon أفيد معارضته للاضراب معروف الى البيت الابيض في وقت مبكر من ولايته ، ويعتقد انه قد قدم استقالته بسبب الضغوط من داخل ادارة بوش.

An open letter sent today to senior military and political officials states: رسالة مفتوحة وجهتها اليوم الى كبار القادة العسكريين والمسؤولين السياسيين الدول :
“It is no longer conscionable for these people to remain silent. "لم يعد conscionable لهؤلاء الناس الى التزام الصمت. Tendering a resignation may be an honorable thing to do on a personal level, but cannot absolve individuals from their personal responsibilities to blow the whistle on an action that they know to be misguided and illegitimate. تقديم الاستقالة قد تكون مشرف الشيء على المستوى الشخصي ، ولكن لا يمكن ان يعفي الافراد من حقوقهم الشخصيه المسؤوليات ليفجر صافره على العمل لانهم يعرفون ان تكون مضلله وغير شرعي. An engineer who knows the design for a passenger aircraft is fatally flawed has a duty to make public his concerns. مهندس يدري تصميم لطائرة ركاب هي قاتلة معيبه عليه واجب لجعل الجمهور مخاوفه. If he chooses to remain silent the resultant deaths will be on his conscience. اذا اختار الصمت الوفيات الناتجة ستكون على ضميره.

The five years since the invasion of Iraq have seen politicians and military officials queuing up to distance themselves from the strategy to attack Baghdad. بعد مرور خمس سنوات على غزو العراق شهدت السياسيين والمسؤولين العسكريين انتظار تصل الى ان تنأى بنفسها عن هذه الاستراتيجيه لمهاجمة بغداد. Many claim that they had privately disagreed with the invasion all along. كثير من يدعون أنهم من القطاع الخاص قد يختلف مع الاحتلال طوال الوقت. It is imperative that political and military experts who oppose attacks on Iran speak up now rather than coming out of the shadows only after another disastrous military adventure in the Middle East. ومن المحتم أن الخبراء السياسيين والعسكريين الذين يعارضون الهجمات على ايران أن أتكلم حتى الآن بدلا من ان الخروج من الظلال الا بعد آخر الكارثيه المغامره العسكرية في الشرق الأوسط.

Writing in the Washington Times on 15th March the Chair of the Committee, said: الكتابة في صحيفة واشنطن تايمز عن 15th مارس رئيس اللجنة ، وقال :

“As head of Central Command, Admiral Fallon controlled all ground, air, and naval military access to the region and could have made it very difficult for the Bush administration to carry out such a strike. "بصفته رئيسا للقيادة المركزية ، الاميرال Fallon تسيطر على جميع الارض ، والهواء ، والبحرية العسكرية من الوصول الى المنطقة ، ويمكن ان تجعل من الصعب جدا على ادارة بوش من اجل تنفيذ هذه الضربه. His removal greatly increases the chances of pre-emptive military intervention against Iran. خروجه يزيد الى حد كبير من فرص الاستباقيه تدخل عسكري ضد ايران. This issue is of such importance that it transcends allegiance to political party or administration. وهذه المساله على هذه الدرجة من الاهميه ان يتجاوز الولاء لحزب سياسي او الادارة. It is essential that parliamentarians, political analysts and military officials make clear their opposition to military intervention against Iran. ومن الضروري ان البرلمانيين ، ومحللين سياسيين ومسؤولين عسكريين اوضح معارضتهم لتدخل عسكري ضد ايران. If they fail to do so they will not be forgiven by their electorates nor by history.” واذا لم تفعل ذلك فانها لن تغفر به الناخبين او حسب التاريخ. "

1) The Westminster Committee on Iran is not a campaigning organisation per se nor is it an official parliamentary body or All Party Parliamentary Group. 1) يستمينستر اللجنة على ايران ليست في حد ذاتها بحملات منظمة ولا هو مسؤول الهيءه البرلمانيه للحزب او كل مجموعة برلمانيه. Instead it aims to fill the space between these two types of bodies in order to increase dialogue, understanding and trust between parliamentarians in London, Tehran and the rest of the world. وبدلا من ذلك يهدف الى ملء الفضاء بين هذين النوعين من الهيئات من اجل زيادة الحوار والتفاهم والثقة بين البرلمانيين في لندن ، طهران وبقية انحاء العالم.

2) On 25th January 2008, Anders B. Johnsson, General Secretary of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Geneva wrote a letter stating that “…the objectives of the Westminster Committee on Iran coincide with those of the IPU, which promotes dialogue to foster understanding and avoid conflict.” 2) عن 25th كانون الثاني / يناير 2008 ، اندرز ب. جونسون ، الامين العام للاتحاد البرلماني الدولي ، جنيف بكتابة رسالة تقول انه "… اهداف يستمينستر اللجنة على ايران تتزامن مع تلك للاتحاد البرلماني الدولي ، الذي يشجع على الحوار لتعزيز التفاهم وتجنب الصراع. "

3) The Commons foreign affairs committee is appointed by the House of Commons and made up to reflect the membership of the House as a whole. 3) المشاعات لجنة الشؤون الخارجية ويعين مجلس العموم وتشكيل لجنة تعكس عضوية مجلس النواب ككل. Its March report states: في آذار / مارس ويذكر التقرير :

“We remain of the view that such a military strike would be unlikely to succeed and could provoke an extremely violent backlash across the region…We recommend that the Government urges Washington to consider offering a credible security guarantee to Iran if the Iranian government in turn will offer an equally credible and verifiable guarantee that it will not enter into a nuclear weapons programme and improves its co-operation with the international community in other areas”. "اننا ما زلنا نرى ان مثل هذه الضربه العسكرية ان من غير المرجح ان تنجح ويمكن ان يتسبب في ردود فعل عنيفة للغاية في جميع انحاء المنطقة… ونحن نوصي بان واشنطن تحث الحكومة على النظر في تقديم ضمانات امنية موثوق بها لإيران إذا ارادت الحكومة الايرانيه سيؤدي بدوره عرض مماثل موثوقه ويمكن التحقق منها ضمان انه لن يدخل في اي برنامج للاسلحه النووية وتحسن تعاونها مع المجتمع الدولي في مجالات اخرى ".
