A military attaché has told the investigators that the United States ambassador to أ الملحق العسكري قد ابلغ المحققين ان سفير الولايات المتحدة لدى Albania البانيا endorsed a plan by the Albanian defense minister to hide several boxes of Chinese ammunition from a visiting reporter. وأقرت الخطة من قبل وزير الدفاع الالبانيه لاخفاء الصينية عدة صناديق من الذخيره من زائره المحرر. The ambassador, John L. The attaché, Maj. Larry D. Harrison II of the Army, was one of the aides attending the late-night meeting, on Nov. 19, 2007. فان ملحق ، اللواء لاري د. هاريسون الثاني من الجيش ، هو واحد من معاوني الذين حضروا في وقت متأخر من الليل ، المعقوده في 19 تشرين الثاني / نوفمبر ، 2007. The repackaging operation, carried out by an AEY subcontractor at the Rinas Airport in Tirana, has become the focus of the Congressional investigation. فان عملية اعادة التغليف ، التي تضطلع بها aey من الباطن في rinas في مطار تيرانا ، وأصبح التركيز في الكونغرس للتحقيق.

Attempts to reach Mr. Withers through the United States Embassy in Tirana were met with a request to refer all questions to Washington. محاولات للتوصل الى السيد الكاهل عن طريق سفاره الولايات المتحدة في تيرانا وقد اجتمع مع طلب احالة جميع المسائل الى واشنطن.
But a senior State Department official, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the ongoing criminal inquiry into AEY, said he had spoken Monday to Mr. Withers, who adamantly denied Major Harrison’s statement. ولكن احد كبار مسؤول في وزارة الخارجية ، تحدث بشرط عدم ذكر اسمه بسبب استمرار التحقيق الجنائي aey ، وقال انه كان قد تحدث يوم الاثنين الى السيد الكاهل ، من نفي بعناد الرئيسية هاريسون البيان.

In January 2007, the Army awarded the company a contract, potentially worth $298 million, that made it the main munitions supplier for Afghan security forces in the fight against في كانون الثاني / يناير 2007 ، والجيش منح الشركة عقدا ، ويحتمل ان تبلغ قيمتها 298 مليون دولار ، التي جعلت من الذخائر المورد الرئيسى لقوات الامن الافغانيه في مكافحة Al Qaeda القاعده and the و Taliban طالبان .
