With MPs voting today on a new, 42-day detention limit for terror suspects, Lee Glendinning spoke to a 23-year-old student about what it is like to be detained under the existing terrorism legislation. مع نواب عن التصويت اليوم على أساس جديد ، و 42 يوما للحد من الإرهاب احتجاز المشتبه فيهم ، تكلم لي glendinning الى 23 سنة - طالب يبلغ من العمر حوالي مثل ما هو عليه الى ان المحتجزين بموجب التشريعات القائمة على الارهاب.

“The ironic thing is, paedophiles, murderers, bank robbers, kidnappers and extortionists are held for four days - 96 hours maximum time. "هو شيء من السخريه ، مشتهى الاطفال ، وقتلة ، لصوص البنوك ، والخاطفين والمبتزين وتعقد لمدة اربعة ايام -- 96 ساعة الحد الأقصى للوقت. Rizwaan Sabir, 23, a student at Nottingham University, found himself detained in a segregated and sealed-off prison wing last month, arrested and held under the Terrorism Act after arriving at university and catching up with a friend for coffee. He thinks about the possibility he could have been charged, that he could be waiting right now on remand for a court date. وقال انه يفكر في امكانيه وقال انه من الممكن ان يكون اي تهمة ، انه يمكن ان ينتظر الآن رهن التحقيق للمحكمة حتى الآن. He finds the idea of returning to study a difficult one - although it is what he wants - and is seeking counselling for an experience he says has scarred him deeply. ويرى ان فكرة العودة الى الدراسه صعبة -- على الرغم من انه ما يريد -- وتسعى المشوره للتجربة ويقول : لقد شوه له بالغ.
Rizwaan’s colleague, Hisham Yezza, was also released without charge after six days, but he is now being held in a detention centre and contesting moves to deport him to Algeria.
