Ferraro Steps Down From Clinton Campaign فيرارو الخطوات التي انخفضت من حملة كلينتون
After making racially-charged comments about Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., former vice presidential Democratic nominee Geraldine Ferraro stepped down Wednesday as a surrogate and member of the finance committee for the presidential campaign of Sen. Hillary Clinton, DN.Y. وبعد ان اتهم تعليقات عنصرية عن sen. باراك اوباما ، د - سوء ، والنائب السابق المرشح الرئاسى الديمقراطى جيرالدين فيرارو استقال الاربعاء بوصفها البديل وعضو من اعضاء اللجنة المالية لحملة الانتخابات الرءاسيه للsen. هيلاري كلينتون ، dn.y.
“She made the decision that she wants to continue talking about this and didn’t want to do this in a way that would cause the campaign problems,” a Clinton campaign source told ABC News. "وقالت انها اتخذت قرار انها تريد مواصلة الحديث عن هذا ولا نريد ان نفعل هذا في وسيلة من شأنها ان تسبب مشاكل الحملة" حملة كلينتون وصرح مصدر اي بي سي الاخباريه.
The source insisted that the campaign did not ask Ferraro to leave. المصدر أصر على ان الحملة لم يطلب فيرارو ان تغادر.
That does not mean, however, that the Clinton campaign had not asked her to shut up. وهذا لا يعني ، مع ذلك ، ان حملة كلينتون قد طلب منها ان لا اخرس.
Ferraro caused the Clinton campaign embarrassment and controversy after telling a California newspaper that if Clinton’s rival, Obama, “was a white man, he would not be in this position. فيرارو تسبب احراجا وحملة كلينتون بعد الجدل في كاليفورنيا تقول الصحيفة انه اذا كان كلينتون منافس اوباما ، "كان الرجل الابيض ، وقال انه لن يكون في هذا الموقف. Instead of backing down, Ferraro took to the airwaves to insist there was nothing offensive or wrong about what she’d said, keeping a story alive that fed into a narrative in which quotes from various Clinton campaign surrogates were used to portray the Clinton campaign as race-baiting. وبدلا من التراجع ، وأحاطت فيرارو الى الاصرار على موجات الأثير لم يكن هناك شىء من الخطأ أو عن الهجوم وقالت انها تريد ما قال ، مع قصة على قيد الحياة الى ان بنك الاحتياطى الفيدرالى فى السرد الذي يقتبس من مختلف البدائل حملة كلينتون استخدمت لتصوير حملة كلينتون - سباق الاصطياد.
While refraining from calling the comments “racist,” Obama, Wednesday, accused Ferraro of conducting “slice and dice” politics. وفي حين ان الامتناع عن التعليقات التي تدعو الى "العنصريه" اوباما ، الاربعاء ، اتهم فيرارو اجراء "شريحة والنرد" السياسة.
“I think that her comments were ridiculous. "اعتقد ان تعليقاتها كانت سخيفه. I think they were wrong-headed,” he said. اعتقد انهم كانوا على خطأ على رأسها ". “The notion that it is a great advantage to me to be an African-American named Barack Obama and pursue the presidency, I think, is not a view that has been commonly shared by the general public.” "الفكره هي ان الميزه الكبرى لتكون لي الافريقى الامريكى اسمه باراك اوباما والسعي للرئاسة ، واعتقد ، ليس بهدف ان تم المشتركة من قبل الجمهور العام."
Obama’s campaign, however, called for the Clinton campaign to fire her. اوباما حملة ، ومع ذلك ، دعا كلينتون حملة لاطلاق النار عليها.
After speaking to Ann Lewis, a senior adviser to the campaign, Ferraro, 72, Wednesday sent an e-mail to Clinton, saying: بعد ان تحدث الى الشبكه العربية الاخباريه لويس ، أحد كبار مستشاري الحملة ، فيرارو ، 72 ، الاربعاء ارسال بريد الكتروني الى كلينتون ، قائلا :

The Obama campaign is attacking me to hurt you. اوباما فان الحملة لمهاجمه لي اذيك. I won’t let that happen. وانا لن ندع ذلك يحدث. Thank you for everything you have done and continue to do to make this a better world for my children and grandchildren. اشكركم على كل ما فعلتموه ومواصلة عمله لجعل هذا العالم عالما افضل لاطفالي واحفادنا. You have my deep admiration and respect. لديك عميق الاعجاب والاحترام.

Ferraro, the previous Honorary New York Leadership Council chair for the Clinton campaign, had pledged to continue raising money for Clinton, even if she were to leave the campaign. فيرارو ، الفخري السابق في نيويورك لمجلس قيادة الرئيس السابق بيل كلينتون حمله ، قد تعهد بمواصلة جمع الاموال لكلينتون ، حتى لو كانت لمغادرة الحملة.
