The European Parliament has backed proposals to set up a European Visa Information System (VIS) and create the world’s largest biometric database, holding 70 million sets of fingerprints. البرلمان الاوروبي قد دعمت مقترحات لانشاء نظام معلومات التاشيره الاوروبية (امام) وتهيئة العالم اكبر قاعدة بيانات القياس الحيوي ، وعقد 70 مليون جهاز من بصمات الاصابع.
The database will also allow police across the European Union to pool and share DNA records. قاعدة البيانات كما ستتيح للشرطة فى جميع انحاء الاتحاد الاوروبى للسباحه وحصة سجلات الحمض النووي.
The new system advances the ‘Big Brother’ threat to civil privacy and the Conservatives have condemned the reports as an invasion of privacy rights and called for Britain to opt out. النظام الجديد السلف 'الاخ الاكبر' تهديدا المدني الخصوصيه والمحافظين ولقد ادانت التقارير بأنه غزو للخصوصيه الانسان ودعت بريطانيا الى الانسحاب.
“The implications… are far-reaching and will affect all EU citizens. "… اثار بعيدة المدى وستؤثر على جميع مواطني الاتحاد الاوروبي. To give just one example, the provisions of this Treaty could mean that data be shared and exchanged on all EU citizens regardless of whether they are suspected or convicted of a crime.” Said Philip Bradbourn MEP, Conservative Justice and Home Affairs Spokesman. لاعطاء مثال واحد فقط ، وأحكام هذه المعاهدة يمكن ان يعني ان يتم تقاسم البيانات وتبادلها على جميع مواطني الاتحاد الاوروبي بغض النظر عما اذا كانوا يشتبه او المدانين بارتكاب جرائم. "قال فيليب bradbourn برنامج الامتياز الاداري ، محافظ العدل والشؤون الداخلية المتحدث. “Overall this…is a classic example of where a few member states are trying to impose their system on all member states. "عموما… وهذا هو مثال تقليدي من حيث عدد قليل من الدول الاعضاء يحاولون فرض نظامهم على جميع الدول الاعضاء. The eight countries signed up to the Prum Treaty are now trying to foist it upon the rest.” البلدان الثمانيه التي وقعت على معاهدة Prum يحاولون الآن foist انها على بقية ".
European Data Protection Supervisor Peter Hustinx expressed his own concern: “The circle of data subjects that can be included in this system is not limited to data of persons suspected or convicted of specific crimes.” حمايه البيانات الاوروبي بيتر المشرف hustinx معربا عن القلق الذاتية : "في داءره البيانات المواضيع التي يمكن ادراجها في هذا النظام لا يقتصر فقط على البيانات من الاشخاص المشتبه فيهم أو المدانين بجرائم معينة."
Liberal Democrat Justice Spokesperson, Baroness Sarah Ludford MEP backed the measures but stated “the potential consequences of misuse or abuse would deeply undermine civil liberties.” المتحدث باسم العدالة الديمقراطى الليبرالى ، البارونه سارة ludford برنامج الامتياز الاداري المدعوم التدابير لكنها ذكرت "العواقب التي قد تنجم عن سوء استعمال او اساءة استعمال عميقا من شأنه تقويض الحريات المدنيه."
However Labour MEP Michael Cashman said “I welcome the adoption of this report after long and complex negotiations. ولكن عمل برنامج الامتياز الاداري مايكل cashman وقال "انني ارحب باعتماد هذا التقرير بعد مفاوضات طويلة ومعقدة. I believe the final agreement represents a balanced and constructive approach. واعتقد ان الاتفاق النهائي يمثل نهجا بناء ومتوازن. It will enable our member states to record and exchange information regarding visa applications in a more coherent way whilst at the same time ensuring applicants’ rights are protected. وسيمكن دولنا الاعضاء لتسجيل وتبادل المعلومات بشأن طلبات الحصول على التاشيره في اكثر اتساقا بينما تضمن فى الوقت نفسه المتقدمين الحقوق محميه. On biometrics, it is essential for the EU to take a coherent position on this issue. على البيولوجيا الاحصاءيه ، ومن الضرورى بالنسبة للاتحاد الاوروبي الى اتخاذ موقف متماسك حول هذه المساله. Technologies such as biometrics can and will improve our security without infringing on our civil liberties if properly and appropriately used. تكنولوجيات مثل البيولوجيا الاحصاءيه يمكن وستحسن امننا دون التعدي على الحريات المدنيه لدينا اذا استخدمت بشكل صحيح ومناسب. We must embrace this technology rather than shy away from it.” ويجب علينا احتضان هذه التكنولوجيا بدلا من أن نخجل منه ".
