Thursday, July 3rd, 2008 الخميس ، يوليو 3rd ، 2008 AP | US prosecution of terror suspects at its Guantanamo Bay detention facility fall short of international standards for fair trials, a UN rights official said Monday. أ ب | من دولارات الولايات المتحدة من الارهاب محاكمة المشتبه فيهم فى دورتها خليج غوانتانامو مرفق الاحتجاز لا تفي بالمعايير الدولية للمحاكمات العادله ، وحقوق وقال مسؤول في الامم المتحدة يوم الاثنين.
UN envoy Philip Alston said the tribunals are flawed because of detainees’ limited access to defense attorneys at the remote US Navy base in southeast Cuba, as well as rules that allow hearsay and coerced evidence to be presented in court. مبعوث الامم المتحدة فيليب الستون : قال المحكمتين معيبه بسبب المحتجزين محدوديه فرص الحصول على وكلاء الدفاع في القاعده البحرية الامريكية الناءيه في جنوب شرق كوبا ، فضلا عن القواعد التي تتيح للاكراه الاشاعات والادله لتقديمها في المحكمه.
“It would violate international law to execute someone following this kind of proceeding,” he said. "انها تنتهك القانون الدولي لتنفيذ ما يلي هذا النوع من الاجراء".
Alston is a special rapporteur of the UN Human Rights Council on extrajudicial, summary and arbitrary executions. هو الستون المقرر الخاص للامم المتحدة مجلس حقوق الانسان المعني بحالات الاعدام خارج القضاء او باجراءات موجزة او تعسفا. He concluded a two-week visit to the United States on Monday and presented his conclusions at a news conference in New York. وختم لمدة اسبوعين في زيارة الى الولايات المتحدة يوم الاثنين ، وعرض استنتاجاته فى مؤتمر صحفى فى نيويورك.
Seven of the 20 detainees selected for prosecution at Guantanamo so far face possible death sentences if convicted, including a Saudi whom the Pentagon on Monday said will be charged with organizing the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole in Yemen. سبعة من ال 20 التي اختيرت لمحاكمة المعتقلين في غوانتانامو حتى الان من الممكن مواجهة عقوبة الاعدام في حالة ادانتهم ، بما في السعودية من البنتاجون يوم الاثنين قال ستقيد لعام 2000 مع تنظيم تفجير المدمره الأمريكية كول فى اليمن.
At a news conference announcing charges against Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri, tribunal legal adviser Air Force Brig Gen. Thomas Hartmann said the system ensures fair trials “consistent with American standards of justice.” في مؤتمر صحافي : الاعلان عن التهم الموجهة الى عبد الرحيم الناشري ، المحكمه المستشار القانوني للقوات الجوية العميد الجنرال توماس هارتمان أن النظام يكفل اجراء محاكمات عادلة "، وفقا لمعايير العدالة الأمريكية."
Alston also called on the US military to open its files on five detainees who died at Guantanamo. كما دعا الستون العسكرية الامريكية لفتح ملفات على خمسة من المعتقلين توفي في غوانتانامو. Four were suicide victims, including three who apparently hanged themselves in June 2006. وكانت اربع ضحايا الانتحار ، من بينهم ثلاثة من ويبدو ان شنق انفسهم في حزيران / يونيو 2006. Officials have not released the autopsies or results of investigations into any of the cases. المسؤولون لم يفرج عنه تشريح الجثث أو نتائج التحقيقات في اي من هذه القضايا.
