By بواسطة Bruce Schneier بروس schneier | What is it with photographers these days? | ما هو عليه مع المصورين هذه الايام؟ Are they really all terrorists, or does everyone just think they are? هل هم حقا لجميع الارهابيين ، او هل الجميع اعتقد انها عادلة؟ Since 9/11, there has been an increasing war on photography. ومنذ 9 / 11 ، حدثت زيادة في الحرب على التصوير الفوتوغرافي. Timothy McVeigh didn’t photograph the Oklahoma City Federal Building. تيموثي مك فأي صورة لم اوكلاهوما سيتي المباني الاتحادية. The Unabomber didn’t photograph anything; neither did shoe-bomber Richard Reid. Unabomber فان الصورة لا شيء ، ولم الحذاء ريتشارد ريد - منفذها. Photographs aren’t being found amongst the papers of Palestinian suicide bombers. الصور لا يجري وجدت بين أوراق التفجيرات الانتحاريه الفلسطينية. The IRA wasn’t known for its photography. الجيش الجمهوري الايرلندي لم تكن معروفة للتصوير. Given that real terrorists, and even wannabe terrorists, don’t seem to photograph anything, why is it such pervasive conventional wisdom that terrorists photograph their targets? وبالنظر الى ان الارهابيين الحقيقية ، وحتى الارهابيين المتمنى ، لا يبدو ان الصورة شيئا ، لماذا يشكل هذا الامر تفشي الحكمة التقليديه القاءله بان الارهابيين الصورة اهدافها؟ Why are our fears so great that we have no choice but to be suspicious of any photographer? لماذا مخاوفنا كبيرا لدرجة ان لا خيار امامنا سوى ان تكون مشبوهة من اي مصور؟
Because it’sa لأن it'sa movie-plot threat - الفيلم مءامره التهديد .
A movie-plot threat is a specific threat, vivid in our minds like the plot of a movie. فيلم - مءامره التهديد هو تهديد محدد ، حية في اذهاننا مثل قطعة من احد الافلام. You remember them from the months after the 9/11 attacks: anthrax spread from crop dusters, a contaminated milk supply, terrorist scuba divers armed with almanacs. تذكر لهم من أشهر بعد 9 / 11 الاعتداءات : انتشار الجمره الخبيثه من المحاصيل المنافض ، ملوثة توريد الحليب ، غطس الارهابيه المسلحه مع مختلف التقاويم. Our imaginations run wild with detailed and specific threats, from the news, and from actual movies and television shows. لدينا مخيله تشغيل البرية مع تهديدات محددة ومفصلة ، من الأخبار ، والفعليه من الافلام والتلفزيون يظهر. These movie plots resonate in our minds and in the minds of others we talk to. الفيلم هذه المؤامرات صداها في اذهاننا وفي عقول الآخرين لنتحدث. And many of us get scared. وكثير منا للحصول على خائفين.
Terrorists taking pictures is a quintessential detail in any good movie. الارهابيين كانوا يصورون هو مثالي من التفصيل في أي فيلم جيد. If we spend a zillion dollars defending Wimbledon and terrorists blow up a different sporting event, that’s money wasted. واذا كنا دولار تنفق العدد الغير معروف والكبير جدا ويمبلدون والدفاع عن الارهابيين لتفجير مختلفة الحدث الرياضي ، ان تهدر اموال. If we post guards all over the Underground and terrorists bomb a crowded shopping area, that’s also a waste. واذا كنا بعد حراس في كل انحاء تحت الارض والارهابيين قنبلة منطقة تسوق مزدحمه ، وهذا ايضا من النفايات. If we teach everyone to be alert for photographers, and terrorists don’t take photographs, we’ve wasted money and effort, and taught people to fear something they shouldn’t. اذا ما نعلمه لكل فرد في ان يكون في حالة استنفار لالمصورين ، والارهابيون لا تأخذ في الصور الفوتوغرافيه ، ولقد قمنا واهدر المال والجهد ، ويدرس الناس الى الخوف من شيء لا ينبغي لها.
And even if terrorists did photograph their targets, the math doesn’t make sense. وحتى لو لم الارهابيين الصورة اهدافها ، والرياضيات ما هو غير مفهوم. Billions of photographs are taken by honest people every year, البلايين من الصور الفوتوغرافيه هي التي اتخذتها نزيهة شخص كل عام ، 50 billion 50 بليون دولار by amateurs alone in the US And the national monuments you imagine terrorists taking photographs of are the same ones tourists like to take pictures of. من جانب الهواه في الولايات المتحدة وحدها والمعالم الوطنية تتخيل التقاط صور للارهابيين هم انفسهم من السياح الى اتخاذ مثل صور. If you see someone taking one of those photographs, the odds are infinitesimal that he’sa terrorist. إذا رأيت أحدهم أخذ واحدة من تلك الصور ، فان الاحتمالات هي ان متناهيه الصغر he'sa الارهابيه.
Of course, it’s far easier to explain the problem than it is to fix it. وبطبيعة الحال ، انه من الاسهل بكثير شرح المشكلة مما هو عليه لتصحيح الامر. Search “photographer rights” on Google and download one of the several wallet documents that can help you if you get harassed; I found one for the بحث "المصور الانسان" على صور وتحميل واحدة من عدة المحفظه الوثائق التي يمكن ان تساعد لكم اذا كنت احصل على مضايقه ؛ وجدت واحدة لل UK المملكه المتحدة , ، US الولايات المتحدة , and ، Australia استراليا . Don’t cede your right to photograph in public. لا تتنازل عن حقك في الصورة العامة. Don’t propagate the terrorist photographer story. لا الارهابيه نشر قصة مصور فوتوغرافي. Remind them that prohibiting photography was something we used to ridicule about the USSR. اذكرهم بأن تحظر التصوير الفوتوغرافي هو شيء كنا سخريه عن اتحاد الجمهوريات الاشتراكيه السوفياتيه. Eventually sanity will be restored, but it may take a while. في نهاية المطاف سوف يتم استعادة العقل ، ولكن قد يستغرق بعض الوقت.
