Police Chief Fears a Big Brother Nation رئيس الشرطة تخشى الاخ الاكبر للامة

Britain faces an ‘Orwellian’ future with CCTV cameras on every street corner, a senior policeman has warned. بريطانيا تواجه 'اورويلي في المستقبل مع كاميرات الدوائر التلفزيونيه المغلقه على كل زاويه شارع ، اقدم شرطي حذر.
Ian Readhead, the Deputy Chief Constable of Hampshire Police, said he does not want to live in a Big Brother-style world. ايان readhead ، نائب رئيس الشرطة للشرطة هامبشاير ، وقال إنه لا يريد أن يعيش في اسلوب الاخ الاكبر في العالم.
His comments come only days after another senior officer broke ranks to criticise the “surveillance society” which is “eroding” civil liberties. تعليقاته تأتي بعد ايام فقط من كبار الموظفين وكسر اخر في الرتب الى ان انتقاد "مراقبة المجتمع" التي "تآكل" الحريات المدنيه.
Mr Readhead questioned the use of CCTV in areas where crime levels are relatively low. وتساءل السيد readhead استخدام الدوائر التلفزيونيه المغلقه في المناطق التي تكون فيها الجريمة مستويات منخفضه نسبيا.
As an example, he cited the small Hampshire town of Stockbridge, where parish councillors have spent £10,000 erecting cameras. وكمثال على ذلك ، وأشار الى بلدة صغيرة هامبشاير Stockbridge ، حيث انفقت في المجالس الابرشيه 10000 جنيه إسترليني نصب آلات التصوير.
Mr Readhead said: “I’m struggling with seeing the deployment of cameras in our local villages as being a benefit to policing. السيد readhead فقال : "انني مع رؤية تكافح نشر آلات التصوير في القرى المحلية على انها مكسب للشرطة.

we really moving towards an Orwellian situation where cameras are at every street corner? نحن حقا التحرك نحو اورويلي الحاله التي يكون فيها كاميرات في كل زاويه شارع؟
“I really don’t think that’s the kind of country that I want to live in.” "أنا حقا لا تعتقد ان هذا النوع من البلد الذي اريد للعيش فيه."
Mr Readhead also called for the use of speed cameras to be reviewed and more consideration of why DNA evidence of suspects was kept. السيد readhead دعا ايضا الى استخدام كاميرات السرعه الى اعادة نظر ومزيد من النظر في الادله من الحمض النووي لماذا تم الابقاء على المشتبه فيهم.
The Government’s controversial DNA database contains more than four million samples, including those of 1.1million people who were arrested but never convicted. الحكومة جدل الحمض النووي قاعدة بيانات تحتوي على اكثر من اربعة ملايين العينات ، بما في ذلك 1.1million من الناس والقي القبض على المدانين لكن لم يحدث ابدا.
He said: “My concern is this - we are in a society at the moment where the police have the power that if they arrest a 15-year-old for a recordable offence we can retain their DNA and their fingerprints for life. وقال : "هذا هو قلقي -- ونحن في مجتمع في لحظة فيها شرطة سلطة ان إلقاء القبض على أحد اذا كانت تبلغ من العمر 15 سنة لتسجيل جريمه يمكننا الاحتفاظ بها من الحمض الريبي النووي وبصمات الاصابع من اجل الحياة.
“Is it right that that may impede that person, who’s never been arrested again, from getting a job? "هل يجوز ان التي قد تعوق ذلك الشخص ، من اي وقت مضى للقبض عليه مرة اخرى ، من الحصول على عمل؟ I’m not sure that sits comfortably with me. لست متأكدا من ان يجلس مرتاحا معي.
“I don’t think the police should be the ones who regulate it and the telling point is - just how powerful do you want your police to be?” "لا اعتقد ان الشرطة ينبغي ان يكونوا هم من تنظيم ونقول انها هي نقطة -- فقط عن مدى قوتها هل تريد ان تكون الشرطة الخاصة بك؟"
Liberal Democrat home affairs spokesman Nick Clegg said: “As John Reid pushes for the deployment of talking CCTV cameras barking الديمقراطى الليبرالى نيك المتحدث باسم الشئون الداخلية clegg قال : "كما تدفع جون ريد لنشر الحديث كاميرات الدوائر التلفزيونيه المغلقه نبح
instruction at passers-by, it is significant that senior police officers are starting to speak out. تعليمات في العابرين ، ومما له دلالته ان كبار ضباط الشرطة والبدء في الكلام.
“Something is wrong when police officers, rather than Government ministers, seem more concerned about the protection of our customary British liberties.” "ما هو الخطأ فيه الى ضباط الشرطة ، بدلا من وزراء الحكومة ، يبدو اكثر قلقا ازاء حمايه مصالحنا العرفيه البريطانية الحريات".
Last week, acting Chief Constable of Suffolk Police, Colin Langham-Fitt complained about the lurch towards a surveillance society, and the Government’s plans for ID cards. في الأسبوع الماضي ، وبالنيابة رئيس الشرطة من الشرطة سوفولك ، Langham كولن - fitt اشتكى الترنح نحو مجتمع المراقبة ، وخطط الحكومة لبطاقات الهوية.

Britain has 20 per cent of the world’s CCTV cameras, or an estimated 4.2million - one for every 14 people. بريطانيا 20 فى المائة من كاميرات الدوائر التلفزيونيه المغلقه في العالم ، أو ما يقدر ب 4.2million -- واحد لكل 14 شخصا.
