Members of the Home Affairs Select Committee say they are concerned that the way the authorities use sensitive data gathered in the multibillion-pound programme could gradually “creep” in scope to include covert surveillance. اعضاء من لجنة الشؤون الداخلية في اختيار يقولون انهم يشعرون بالقلق من ان الطريقة التى تستخدم السلطات الحساسة والبيانات التي جمعت في multibillion - يمكن للبرنامج ان الجنيه تدريجيا "تسلل" في نطاقها لتشمل المراقبة الخفيه.
The all-party committee also urges ministers to make plans for how to deal with any theft of personal details from the National Identity Scheme, which will build a database on every person over 16 in Britain. جميع الاطراف وتحث اللجنة ايضا وزراء لوضع خطط لكيفية التعامل مع أي سرقة تفاصيل شخصية من الهوية الوطنية للمخطط ، الذي سيبني قاعدة بيانات عن كل شخص تتجاوز اعمارهم 16 سنة في بريطانيا. It accepts ministers’ assurances that surveillance is not part of current plans, but asks for a guarantee that no expansion will take place without MPs’ approval. ما وافق الوزراء على تاكيدات بان المراقبة ليست جزءا من خطط في الوقت الراهن ، ولكنه يسأل لضمان عدم التوسع سوف تتم من دون نواب 'موافقة عليها.
The report, which is published today, says: “Any ambiguity about the objectives of the scheme puts in jeopardy the public’s trust in the scheme itself and in the Government’s ability to run it.” التقرير ، الذى ينشر اليوم ، يقول : "ان اي غموض حول اهداف هذا المخطط تعرض للخطر ثقة الجمهور في النظام في حد ذاته وعلى قدرة الحكومة على اداراتها".
