Implants van de microchip dat op de Patiënten van Alzheimer moet worden Getest

200 de lijders van Alzheimer moeten met de hoogst controversiële spaanders van de radiofrequentieidentificatie worden geïnplanteerdt (RFID), wat beduidend persoonlijke privacy en het rekening houden van de met mentaliteit van de patiënten vermindert, kan slechts als vorm van verkrachting worden beschouwd aangezien zij niet bij machte zijn om volledig geïnformeerdew toestemming te geven of de spaanders te weigeren.

Een zorgcentrum in West-Palm Beach, Florida wordt geplaatst om de vervaardigde microchips te slepen, en geschonken door VeriChip Corp. The 34-kilohertz tag will be the implanted in the patients upper right arm and a 16-digit code will be able to provide access to a database via an RFID reader containing their medical history and existing conditions.

Despite warnings from privacy advocates and protesters who held an interfaith prayer vigil outside the centre, Mary Barnes of Alzheimer’s Community Care insists the implants are “a safety net”.

Privacy advocates would rather see a bracelet used instead of the implants, also if the chips malfunction it would lead to surgery.

“This is by definition a way of doing something that denies a person control,” says Lee Tien, of the Electronic Frontier Foundation, San Francisco. “If that doesn’t strike at the heart of human dignity, I don’t know what does.”
