Für die, die fürchten, daß unsere Zivilfreiheiten unter Drohung sind, gibt es viel der Munition. Vorbereitende Verzögerung ist zu 28 Tagen ausgedehnt worden. Großbritannien ist zu den Millionen von Haupt überwachungkameras. Arbeit ist ruhige Planung Identifikation Karten. Proteste sind eingeschränkt. Regierungsagenturen können email ohne suchende Gerichterlaubnis abfangen und haben Zugang zu allen Telefonaufzeichnungen. Zentralisierte Datenbanken der persönlichen Informationen wie DNA wachsen. Terror laws, control orders, Asbos and the criminal justice act have all run counter to the traditional idea of an open trial by jury.
Are new laws a necessary trade-off for security in an era of terrorism? And should we worry? Is it true that if you’ve nothing to fear, you have nothing to hide?
