Remember these are children and most have not even been charged with an offense , never mind convicted . Yes believe it or not i am in favour of D.N.A. being taken from a convicted criminal , even though D.N.A. samples can get corrupted and should be used with other evidence and not as a stand alone basis for a conviction . But these are CHILDREN!!! . What do the police need the D.N.A. for anyway ? . In case they break the law in the future when they are adults . What ever happened to 'Innocent Until Proven Guilty' ! . You might as well take the D.N.A. when 'ALL' children are born and save the hassle later!!! . Where are the rest of the comments here ? . I bet you will have plenty to say when it's your child .
