The Government was under pressure today to abandon its ID card plans after one of the main firms involved in the project lost thousands of criminals’ personal details. الحكومة تحت الضغط اليوم على التخلي عن خطط بطاقه هوية بعد واحدة من أهم الشركات المشاركة في المشروع خسر الالاف من المجرمين 'تفاصيل شخصية.
The names, addresses and expected release dates of all 84,000 prisoners in England and Wales were on a computer memory stick lost by Home Office external contractor PA Consulting. بأسماء وعناوين وتواريخ من المتوقع اطلاق سراح جميع السجناء 84000 في انكلترا وويلز وكانت على جهاز الكمبيوتر عصا الذاكرة المفقودة من قبل وزارة الداخلية في السلطة الفلسطينية التشاور مع المقاول الخارجية.
Home Secretary Jacqui Smith said the loss was “completely unsatisfactory”, adding that the information should not have been downloaded on to a memory stick. وجدد وزير jacqui قال سميث الخسارة كانت "غير مرضية تماما" ، مضيفا ان الاعلام لا ينبغي ان تم انزاله الى الذاكرة عصا.
The lost computer files also contain the names, addresses and dates of birth of 30,000 people with six or more convictions in the last year, as well as the names and dates of birth of 10,000 offenders regarded as prolific and the initials of people on drug treatment programmes. فقدان ملفات الحاسوب ويحتوي ايضا على أسماء وعناوين وتواريخ الميلاد من 30000 شخص او اكثر مع ستة احكام بالادانه في العام الماضي ، وكذلك اسماء وتواريخ ولادة 10000 المجرمين prolific وتعتبر الأولى من الناس على العلاج من تعاطي المخدرات البرامج.
“This was data that was being held in a secure form, but was downloaded on to a memory stick by an external contractor,” Ms Smith told the BBC. "، وذلك في البيانات التي كانت تعقد في شكل آمن ، ولكن كان انزاله الى الذاكرة عصا من قبل متعاقد خارجي ،" السيدة سميث ابلغ هيئة الاذاعة البريطانية.

PA Consulting had the information as part of research it was carrying out for the Home Office on tracking offenders through the criminal justice system. وكان التشاور مع السلطة الفلسطينية المعلومات كجزء من البحوث التي تقوم بها وزارة الداخلية لتعقب المجرمين عن طريق نظام العدالة الجناءيه.
But the firm is also heavily involved in the ID card project, having been appointed to work on the design, feasibility testing, business case and procurement elements of the programme. ولكن الشركة هي ايضا متورطه بشدة في بطاقه هوية المشروع ، وقد تم تعيين للعمل على تصميم واختبار جدوى ، وحالة قطاع الاعمال والمشتريات من عناصر البرنامج.
Shadow home secretary Dominic Grieve said: “The public will be alarmed that the Government is happy to entrust their £20 billion ID card project to the firm involved in this fiasco, at a cost of millions of pounds to the UK taxpayer. الظل وزير الداخلية دومينيك نحزن وقال : "سيكون الجمهور واذ يثير جزعها ان الحكومة سعيدة ان تعهد الى 20 مليار جنيه استرليني على بطاقه هوية المشروع الى شركة تشارك في هذا الاخفاق التام ، بتكلفة ملايين جنيه لدافع الضرائب في المملكه المتحدة.
“This will destroy any grain of confidence the public still have in this white elephant and reinforce why it could endanger - rather than strengthen - our security.” "ان هذا سوف يدمر اي من الحبوب ثقة الجمهور ما زال في هذا الفيل الابيض وتعزيز لماذا يمكن ان تعرض للخطر -- بدلا من تعزيز -- امننا".
Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg said: “I’m just gobsmacked like everyone else is that the Government can be so systematically incompetent in failing to keep our data safe. الزعيم الديمقراطى الليبرالى نيك clegg قال : "انا مجرد gobsmacked مثل كل شخص آخر هو ان الحكومة يمكن ان يكون ذلك بصورة منتظمة فى حالة عدم اهليته للحفاظ على البيانات آمنة.
“Frankly the Keystone Cops would do a better job running the Home Office and keeping our data safe than this government, and if this government cannot keep the data of thousands of guilty people safe, why on earth should we give them the data of millions of innocent people in an ID card database?” "بصراحة حجر الزاويه في الشرطة سوف نقوم بعمل افضل ادارة وزارة الداخلية وحفظ البيانات الامنه لدينا من هذه الحكومة ، وإذا كان هذا لا يمكن للحكومة ان تبقى البيانات الآلاف من الأشخاص المذنبين الامنه ، لماذا على الارض ينبغي ان نقدم لهم الملايين من بيانات الابرياء في قاعدة بيانات البطاقه الشخصيه؟ "
Shami Chakrabarti, director of civil rights group Liberty, said: “With every new government data bungle, another ounce of public trust ebbs away. Chakrabarti الشامي ، مديرة مجموعة الحقوق المدنيه والحرية ، وقال : "ان الحكومة الجديدة مع كل البيانات الفشل ، وآخر للاوقيه من ثقة الجمهور ينحسر بعيدا.
“Ministers continue to make overblown claims for the preposterous ID card scheme - when will they ever learn? "واعرب الوزراء عن مواصلة بذل overblown المطالبات غير معقول لبطاقه هوية مخطط -- متى تعلم انها من اي وقت مضى؟
“This is no ordinary scandal, heads need to roll.” "هذه ليست فضيحه عادية ، ورؤساء الحاجة الى اندرول."
