De Australische politie gebruikt nationale DNA- gegevens om misdaden op te lossen

De politie in de staat van Australië van Nieuw Zuid-Wales is begonnen gebruikend een nationaal DNA- gegevensbestand helpen onopgeloste misdaden onderzoeken. Het gegevensbestand past bewijsmateriaal dat bij misdaadscènes wordt verzameld met misdadige profielen aan overtreders op te sporen die tusen staten kunnen bewogen hebben.

De Minister David Campbell van de Politie van de Staat van Nieuw Zuid-Wales zegt het nationale gegevensbestand helpt misdaden over Australië oplossen.

„Dit is over het opsplitsen van staatsgrenzen, het delen van informatie en het delen van gegevens over misdadige activiteit en van misdadigersDNA profielen en dat betekent dat het moeilijker is voor misdadigers zich tusen staten bewegen om opsporing te vermijden.“
