Microsoft onthult de Nieuwe Computer van de Oppervlakte

SEATTLE (AP) - Microsoft Corp. de omslagen uit „Oppervlakte,“ een koffielijst gevormde computer heeft verwijderd die aan aanraking en aan speciale streepjescodes in bijlage aan dagelijkse voorwerpen antwoordt.
De machines, die Microsoft aan debuutWoensdag op een technologieconferentie in Carlsbad plande, worden Californië, geplaatst om in November in de t-Mobiele opslag en de eigenschappen aan te komen van de V.S. die door Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. wordt bezeten en Harrah's Entertainment Inc.
De oppervlakte is hoofdzakelijk een PC van het Uitzicht van Vensters die binnen een glanzende zwarte lijstbasis wordt geplooid, die met 30 duimtouchscreen wordt bedekt in een duidelijk acrylkader. Vijf camera's die nabijgelegen voorwerpen kunnen ontdekken worden opgezet onder het scherm. De gebruikers kunnen met de machine door hun vingertoppen te raken of te slepen en voorwerpen zoals penselen over het scherm interactie aangaan, of door real-world punten te plaatsen die met speciale streepjescodeetiketten worden geëtiketteerd bovenop het.
In tegenstelling tot meeste touchscreens, kan de Oppervlakte aan meer dan één aanraking antwoorden tegelijkertijd. Tijdens een demonstratie met een verslaggever vorige week, „dompelde“ het Teken Bolger, de op de markt brengende directeur van de groep van de Oppervlakte Gegevens verwerkende, zijn vinger in verfpalette op scherm onder, dan sleepte het over het scherm om een smileygezicht te trekken. Dan gebruikte hij meteen alle 10 vingers om het gezicht een volledig hoofd van haar te geven.
Met een prijsmarkering tussen $5.000 en $10.000 per eenheid, streeft Microsoft niet onmiddellijk naar de vinger het schilderen reeks. (Het bedrijf zei het de prijzen verwacht dat laten vallen genoeg om de versies van de consument in drie tot vijf jaar uitvoerbaar te maken.)
Enkele eerste modellen van de Oppervlakte worden gepland om klanten te helpen nieuwe celtelefoons bij t-Mobiele opslag uitkiezen. Wanneer klanten zal plop een telefoon neer op het scherm, Oppervlakte zijn streepjescode en vertoningsinformatie over de zaktelefoon lezen. De klanten kunnen het roepen van plannen en ringtones ook selecteren door pictogrammen naar de telefoon te slepen.
De gasten die in sommige hallen van het Hotel zitten zullen Starwood zich rond de Oppervlakte kunnen groeperen om muziek te spelen, dan liederen te kopen gebruikend een creditcard of beloningenkaart die met een streepjescode wordt geëtiketteerdr. In sommige hotelrestaurants, zullen de klanten tot voedsel en dranken kunnen opdracht geven, dan verdelen de rekening door een kaart of een ruimtesleutel op te tekenen en hun menupunten „op“ de kaart te slepen.
At Harrah’s locations, visitors will be able to learn about nearby Harrah’s venues on an interactive map, then book show tickets or make dinner reservations.
Microsoft is working on a limited number of programs to ship with Surface, including one for sharing digital photographs.
Bolger placed a card with a bar code onto Surface’s surface; digital photographs appeared to spill out of the card into piles on the screen. Several people gathered around the table pulled photos across the screen using their fingertips, rotated them in circles and even dragged out the corners to enlarge the images - behavior made possible by the advanced graphics support deep inside Windows Vista.
“It’s not a touch screen, it’s a grab screen,” Bolger said.
Historically, Microsoft has focused on creating new software, giving computer programmers tools to build applications on its platforms, and left hardware manufacturing to others. (Some recent exceptions include the Xbox 360 and the Zune music player, made by the same Microsoft division that developed Surface.)
For now, Microsoft is making the Surface hardware itself, and has only given six outside software development firms the tools they need to make Surface applications.
Matt Rosoff, an analyst at the independent research group Directions on Microsoft, said in an interview that keeping the technology’s inner workings under wraps will limit what early customers - the businesses Microsoft is targeting first with the machine - will be able to do with it.
But overall, analysts who cover the PC industry were wowed by Surface.
Surface is “important for Microsoft as a promising new business, as well as demonstrating very concretely to the market that Microsoft still knows how to innovate, and innovate in a big way,” said Michael Gartenberg, an analyst at Jupiter Research.
