BBC News بي بي سي نيوز | Allowing scientists to carry out stem cell research using hybrid human-animal embryos “is a step too far and should be banned”, the Commons has been told. | السماح للاضطلاع العلماء بحوث الخلايا الجذعيه الهجينه استخدام الاجنه البشريه الحيوانيه "يمثل خطوة أبعد مما ينبغي وينبغي ان تكون محظوره" ، وقيل للالمشاعات.
Senior Tory MP Edward Leigh said there was “no evidence yet to substantiate” the claims this could lead to treatment for Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. كبار المحافظ وقال النائب ادوارد لأي كان هناك "لا ادلة بعد لاثبات" المطالبات يمكن ان يؤدي ذلك الى علاج باركنسون ومرض الزهايمر.
Gordon Brown has urged MPs to back the work, saying it is a “moral endeavour” that could save thousands of lives. غوردون براون قد حث نواب العودة الى العمل ، قائلا انه "المسعى الاخلاقيه" التي يمكن ان تنقذ آلاف الارواح.
MPs are voting on a series of reforms to embryology laws that date from 1990. هم نواب عن التصويت على سلسلة من الاصلاحات لقوانين علم الاجنه في ذلك التاريخ من عام 1990.
The measures, part of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill, are aimed at updating laws in line with scientific advances. التدابير ، جزءا من التخصيب وعلم الاجنه البشريه مشروع القانون ، تهدف الى تحديث القوانين وتمشيا مع التقدم العلمي.
‘Useless’ 'عديمة الفاءده'
They will be voted on in the House of Commons over the next two days. وسيتم التصويت عليه في لجنة مجلس العموم على مدى اليومين القادمين.
Ex-minister Mr Leigh opened the debate on Monday, with an amendment prohibiting outright the creation of hybrid “admixed” embryos. السيد وزير القوات المسلحه الروانديه السابقة لأي افتتح المناقشه يوم الاثنين ، مع تعديل الصريح الذي يحظر انشاء الهجينه "admixed" الاجنه.
He said he believed the move was “ethically wrong and almost certainly medically useless, and if not useless, there is no evidence yet to substantiate it”. وقال انه يعتقد ان التحرك هو "خطأ اخلاقيا وطبيا ويكاد يكون من المؤكد ان لا طائل منه ، واذا كان لا طائل منه ، ولا يوجد حتى الآن دليل لاثبات انها".
The bill would allow regulated research using hybrid or “admix” embryos, where the nuclei of a human cell are inserted into an animal egg. ومن شأن مشروع القانون ان يسمح للتنظيم البحوث التي تستخدم فيها او الهجينه "أخلط" الاجنه ، حيث نواة الخلية البشريه تندس الى حيوان البيض.
The resulting embryos would be kept for up to 14 days to harvest stem cells. الاجنه الناتجة سوف يبقى لمدة تصل الى 14 يوما لحصاد الخلايا الجذعيه.
But Mr Leigh said: “We do not believe that regulation is enough. ولكن السيد لاي قال : "نحن لا نعتقد ان التنظيم بما فيه الكفايه. We believe this is a step too far and therefore should be banned.” ونعتقد ان هذا يمثل خطوة أبعد مما ينبغي ولذا ينبغي ان تكون محظوره. " “In embryos, we do have the genetic make up of a complete human being and we could not and should not be spliced together with the animal kingdom.” "في الاجنه ، فان لدينا تشكل الجينيه للإنسان كاملة ونحن لا يمكن ولا ينبغي أن يكون مربوط معا مع مملكة الحيوان".
Labour’s Chris Bryant, a former Anglican curate, said Mr Leigh’s arguments were like those used by church leaders against the smallpox vaccine. العمل 'sكريس براينت ، وتكلف والانغليكانيه سابق ، قال السيد لأي حجج مثل تلك التي كانت تستخدم من قبل قادة الكنيسة لقاح ضد الجدري.
“They were wrong and I think you are wrong today,” he said. "لقد كانوا مخطئين واعتقد انكم على خطأ اليوم".
In a separate amendment, Tory shadow health minister Mark Simmonds is calling for true hybrids, made by fertilising a human egg with animal sperm, or visa-versa, to be outlawed. في باب مستقل من التعديل ، وزير الصحة الظل المحافظ مارك سيموندز حقيقية تدعو الى التهجين ، الذي ادلى به من حقوق fertilising البيضة مع نطفة الحيوان ، او تأشيرة والعكس ، على ان يحظر.
MPs are being given a free vote on four controversial parts of the bill after warnings that some Catholic MPs and cabinet ministers were ready to rebel. النواب ويجري اعطاء حرية التصويت للجدل على أربعة أجزاء من مشروع القانون بعد التحذيرات الكاثوليكيه ان بعض النواب والوزراء على استعداد للمتمردين.
The other three areas are: المجالات الثلاثة الاخرى هي :
- Saviour siblings: These are babies born from embryos selected because they are a tissue match for a sick older brother or sister with a genetic condition. منقذ الاخوة والاخوات : هذه هي الاطفال الذين يولدون من اختيار الاجنه لأنها تطابق الانسجه للمريض من كبار السن الأخ أو الأخت مع شرط الجينيه. Debate on Monday from about 1830 BST, with vote at about 2200 BST. المناقشه يوم الاثنين من حوالى 1830 BST ، مع التصويت فى حوالى 2200 BST.
- Role of fathers in fertility treatment: Would end the requirement for IVF clinics to consider the “welfare” of any child created in terms of need for a father. دور الآباء في علاج الخصوبه : من شأنه ان ينهي الحاجة الى العيادات تتعاطى اعمال التلقيح الاصطناعي للنظر في "الرعايه" اي طفل من حيث خلق الحاجة الى وجود الأب. Debate from 1530 BST Tuesday, with vote at about 1830 BST. من المناقشه BST 1530 الثلاثاء ، مع التصويت فى حوالى 1830 BST.
- The upper limit for abortion: Amendments have been put down to the bill to cut from 24 weeks the time limit for abortions. الحد الأعلى للاجهاض : التعديلات قد طرحت وصولا الى مشروع قانون لقطع 24 اسبوعا من المهله المحددة لعمليات الاجهاض. Debate on Tuesday from 1830 BST, with votes at about 2200 BST. المناقشه يوم الثلاثاء من BST 1830 ، مع الاصوات في حوالى 2200 BST.
The Roman Catholic Church has branded the use of hybrid embryos as “monstrous” and says tinkering with life in this way is immoral. الكنيسة الكاثوليكيه الرومانيه قد تحمل علامة استخدام اجنه مهجنه "الوحشية" ويقول ترقيع الحياة بهذه الطريقة امر غير اخلاقي.
Catholic bishops in Britain and the Irish Republic have given £25,000 to scientists using adult stem cells, which is less controversial than using immature ones. الاساقفه الكاثوليك في بريطانيا وجمهورية ايرلندا اعطت 25000 جنيه إسترليني للعلماء باستخدام الخلايا الجذعيه البالغة ، وهو أقل إثارة للجدل من استخدام غير ناضجه منها.
Such cells can be used to create brain, skin, heart and other tissue for treating diseases. مثل هذه الخلايا يمكن ان تستخدم لخلق الدماغ ، والجلد والقلب والانسجه الاخرى لعلاج الامراض.
After making a strong personal case for using hybrid embryos at the weekend, Mr Brown is expected to be backed on this part of the bill. بعد اجراء قوي الشخصيه الحال بالنسبة لاستخدام الاجنه المهجنه في عطلة نهاية الاسبوع ، ومن المتوقع ان السيد براون الى دعم على هذا الجزء من المشروع.
Writing in the Observer newspaper, Mr Brown called on MPs to back the use of hybrid embryos, saying such scientific advances could speed up treatment for cancer and conditions such as Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease. الكتابة في صحيفة المراقب ، السيد براون ودعا النواب الى العودة لاستخدام الاجنه المهجنه ، وقال مثل هذا التقدم العلمي يمكن ان الاسراع في علاج السرطان وامراض مثل باركنسون ومرض الزهايمر.
Cameron’s position كاميرون موقف
“The scientists I speak to are committed to what they see as an inherently moral endeavour that can save and improve the lives of thousands and over time, millions,” he said. "وانا اتكلم على العلماء ملتزمون ما يرون بطبيعته الاخلاقيه التي يمكن ان تسعى على انقاذ الارواح وتحسين حياة الآلاف وعلى مر الزمن ، الملايين".
Mr Cameron said he would be voting in favour of admix embryos and the creation of saviour siblings. وقال السيد كاميرون وقال انه سيكون التصويت لصالح أخلط ايجاد بالاجنه والمنقذ من الاخوة والاخوات.
Speaking as he visited Birmingham, he said: “My own approach to this is the law needs updating and the importance of science and research and getting to grips with genetic disease… I want to see the research go forward.” كما تحدث زار برمنغهام ، وقال : "انتمي الى هذا النهج هو قانون احتياجات تحديث وأهمية العلم والبحث والحصول على السيطرة على الامراض الوراثيه… أريد ان أرى البحث المضى قدما."
However, he said he would be voting “against some of the things that won’t be necessary”. ومع ذلك ، وقال انه سيكون من التصويت "ضد بعض الاشياء التي لن يكون من الضروري".
Leading medical research charities, including the Wellcome Trust and the Medical Research Council, have issued an open letter also urging MPs to back such research, saying advances in the “understanding and treatment of diseases must not be closed down”. تؤدي البحوث الطبية الخيريه ، بما في صندوق ويلكوم الاستءماني ومجلس البحوث الطبية ، وأصدرت رسالة مفتوحة كما حث النواب لدعم هذه البحوث ، والتقدم في قوله "فهم ومعالجة الامراض ويجب عدم اغلاق".
Scientists at Newcastle University announced last month that they had created the first part-human, part-animal hybrid embryos in the UK. العلماء في جامعة نيوكاسل في الشهر الماضي اعلنت انها قد أنشأت اول جزء من الانسان ، جزء من الاجنه الحيوانيه الهجينه في المملكه المتحدة.
They were created by injecting DNA derived from human skin cells into eggs taken from cows’ ovaries which had had virtually all their genetic material removed. انشئت من اجلها عن طريق حقن الحمض النووي المستمده من جلد الانسان الى خلايا ماخوذه من بيض البقر المبايض التي كان لها تقريبا جميع المواد الجينيه ازالتها.
Researchers say these human-animal “admixed” embryos could help solve the current problem of the lack of human eggs from which to generate embryos. ويقول الباحثون هذه الانسان والحيوان "admixed" الاجنه يمكن ان تساعد في حل المشكلة الحالية المتمثلة في عدم وجود من البويضات البشريه التي لتوليد اجنه.
The vote on hybrid embryos and “saviour siblings” will take place on Monday, while the vote on the role of fathers in IVF treatment and abortion limits will be held on Tuesday. التصويت على اجنه مهجنه و"المنقذ الاخوة والاخوات" وستعقد الجلسة يوم الاثنين ، في حين ان التصويت على دور الاباء في المعامله تتعاطى اعمال التلقيح الاصطناعي والاجهاض وسوف يحد من المقرر عقدها يوم الثلاثاء. If the proposals are approved, the new legislation could come into force next year. إذا كانت هذه المقترحات هي الموافقة عليها ، ويمكن ان ياتي التشريع الجديد حيز النفاذ في العام المقبل.
