Fox News’ credibility hit a record low this year, according to new Public Policy Polling (PPP) research released Wednesday. In a press release, PPP put Fox’s abysmal year into context:
Just like its actual ratings, Fox News has hit a record low in the four years that we've been doing this poll. 41% of voters trust it to 46% who do not. To put those numbers into some perspective the first time we did this poll, in 2010, 49% of voters trusted it to 37% who did not.
After another year of airing misinformation and embarrassing gaffes, it’s no surprise that Fox News continues to lose Americans’ trust:
January 2012 - Fox Peddles Racist “Food Stamp” Rhetoric
Echoing Newt Gingrich’s disgusting nickname for the president, several Fox personalities peddled the misinformation that Obama is giving out more “freebies” than any other administration. As Media Matters reported, that’s false. In actuality, George W. Bush oversaw the largest increase in food stamp usage. Evidently, coded racism doesn’t bode well for credibility.
February 2012 – Fox Pundit Says Military Women Should “Expect” to be Raped
Fox News pundit Liz Trotta learned that Americans aren’t too fond of victim blaming. Responding to news that women would be working closer to front lines, Trotta implied that women should “ expect” to be raped more if they want to serve this country.
March 2012 — Fox Pundit Claims “Hoodie” Killed Trayvon Martin
Geraldo Rivera started a national movement this year when he suggested that Trayvon Martin died because of what he was wearing, not the overzealous vigilantism of a George Zimmerman or outrageous “stand your ground” laws.
April 2012 — Fox Host Misinforms on the Environment
Everyone knows Fox News has an appalling record on the environment. As the Union of Concerned Scientists revealed, Fox News has misled the American public in 93 percent of their climate change coverage. And in April, host Greg Gutfeld uttered a slew of environmental falsehoods, including the claim that the world plants more trees than it cuts down.
May 2012 — Fox Appeals to Jingoism and Lies About Obama
Media Matters reports a full on assault against from President Obama for allegedly failing to express his gratitude to the Navy SEALs who killed Osama bin Laden.
June 2012 — Fox Ignores Context of “Private Sector is Doing Fine”
“The private sector is doing fine.” Remember when Fox News used this quote from the president to demonize him as an out of touch socialist without including the context that private sector jobs were in fact growing at a higher rate than the public sector?
July 2012 — Fox Peddles Voter Fraud Myths
August 2012 — Fox Chooses not to Talk About Todd Akin
In August, Rep. Todd Akin found a national audience when he claimed that women’s bodies are biologically tuned to abort pregnancies resulting from “legitimate rape.” As Think Progress reports, Fox News barely covered the story.
September 2012 — The Polls Are Rigged…
When the polls weren’t in Mitt Romney’s favor, Fox News pundits joined conservative conspiracy theorists claiming that someone must’ve been cooking the numbers.
October 2012 — So Let’s Ignore Them…
The now-terminated pundit Dick Morris predicted that Mitt Romney would win in a “landslide.”

Regional integration in itself, however, has not proven to a recipe for dynamic policies – as evidenced by public disenfranchisement with traditional politics throughout the European Union. The growing popularity of once-fringe nationalist parties throughout Europe should be seen as a response to economic policies centered on liberalization and denationalization by broad deregulation and austerity measures; a disproportionate focus on free trade; the erosion of state sovereignty by supranational bylaws and one-size-fits-all monetary policies.
Since its formation in 2004, originally as an alliance between Cuba and Venezuela, the ALBA grouping has positioned itself as an alternative to the proposed Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA) agreement championed by the United States, which sought to remove trade barriers and introduce sweeping intellectual property laws that would have limited the cross-importation of pharmaceuticals. Ecuador, Bolivia, Nicaragua, and several other Caribbean states later joined the ALBA bloc.
Liberalizing trade regimes and economic policies have failed to achieve economic development and alleviate poverty in Latin America, according to Lourdes Puma Puma, Ambassador to Ecuador in Malaysia, during her address to the panel, explaining the factors that contributed to the expansion of ALBA into a nine-nation regional grouping. Based on the emancipatory ideas of Simón Bolívar and José Marti, both being historical figures that symbolize the independence of Latin American nations from colonial Spain, the ALBA grouping defines itself by emphasizing policies that create social uplift and focus more on complementarity rather than competition.
ALBA’s unique significance compared to other regional organizations, according to Dr. Chandra Muzaffar, President of the International Movement for a Just World (JUST), is precisely on the tremendous importance it places on human welfare and social justice with programs that provide free medical care and treatment for the disabled. ALBA’s integration strategy is built on the foundations of a people-centered, inclusive model though prioritizing the common distribution of medicines, emphasizing food self-sufficiency, and ambitious projects to eradicate hungry and illiteracy.
One of the features of ALBA’s complementarity economics is the use of compensated trade through direct product exchanges so that countries can use their resource advantages in a mutually beneficial way that doesn’t necessarily imply a financial transaction. A common example of this is how Venezuela provides oil to Cuba in exchange for doctors and healthcare professionals; this system of trade-offs also includes educational and medical services, scientific projects and commodities.
Cuba, which has punched far above its weight in the fight against Ebola, has more doctors per capita than any other country in the world by virtue of its state-run healthcare system. One of the crowning achievements of ALBA’s partnership has been the ‘Operation Miracle’ project that saw the deployment of Cuban ophthalmologists across Latin America to perform surgeries on vision-impaired people suffering from cataracts and glaucoma. Some 3.4 million people have had their sight restored, free of charge.
Throughout the ALBA bloc, 1.2 million disabled people have been treated while more than 2 million consultations have taken place. Another regional initiative has been the Grand-National Project of Literacy and Post-Literacy, offering universal primary education. More than 3.8 million people have been made literate through the “Yo si peudo (Yes I can)” program to promote reading and writing, which has been recognized by UNESCO. ALBA has also incentivized scholarships for higher education and academic exchanges within the bloc.
Contrary to traditional regional economic intergradation schemes that encourage the scaling back of the state in favor of the market, ALBA countries believe that the state has a role to play in regulating economic activity in the interest of maintaining social welfare. As both an economic and political alliance, the grouping shares common positions on the principals of sovereignty, multi-polarity, self-determination, environmentally sustainable development strategies and an opposition to interventionism and war.
ALBA’s drive to create a complementary economic zone with PetroCaribe, a separate grouping between Venezuela and Caribbean states, has enormous potential for development as a region encompassing 21 nations within a 7 million km zone, boasting a workforce of 60 million people. Investment opportunities are also aplenty, in areas ranging from mining and energy to tourism. The grouping has also launched a bank and a digital currency – the Sucre – as a mechanism for international payments and the use of local currency for payment of imports, in addition to reducing dependence on US dollar transactions.
The United States, with its long-standing hostility toward Cuba and continued unilateral blockade of the island’s economy, views the independent direction of ALBA as an affront to its interests. ALBA countries believe that the media coverage of developments in Latin America throughout the West are tinged with bias and misinformation, which led the bloc to introduce a number of television and radio stations such as Telesur and AlbaTV to present their side of the story to international and domestic audiences.
There are undoubtedly challenges ahead as ALBA solidifies its indigenous regional integration model and deepens cooperation with other regional blocks in Latin America, such as CELAC and Mercosur, of which many ALBA states are participants. In attempting to reverse the legacy of hegemony and dominance in the region, the nations of ALBA understand the limitations of the nation-state. A regional body has far more clout to enact systemic changes that the people of Latin America have been enormously supportive of.
Simón Bolívar once said that it was the inexorable destiny of Latin America to be united – there is no question that ALBA is at the forefront of this struggle for dignity and social justice.
On May 15, 2014, Newsweek published a piece about conspiracy theories and how they "cripple basic governance," also that they "divert attention from real issues," and "distort the debate that is crucial to democracy."
First and foremost, as much as some would like it to be different, America is NOT a Democracy, it is a Republic that holds democratic elections, but despite the MSM's attempts to distort that very basic fact, that is not the point of this article.
Key Quotes from the Newsweek article:
.....“One of the most common ways of introducing a conspiracy theory is to ‘just ask questions’ about an official account,’’ says Karen Douglas, co-editor of the British Journal of Social Psychology and a senior academic who has researched conspiracy theories at Britain’s University of Kent. “It’s quite a powerful rhetorical tool because it doesn’t require any content, just the introduction of doubt about the official story.”....
But accusing political opponents of serious wrongdoing based on unsubstantiated nonsense plays havoc with social discourse. When each side attacks the other based on wild theories—calling them terrorists, anti-American, murderers, racists and the like—the tribal divisions cripple basic governance.
“The reason we should worry about conspiracy theories and misinformation is that they distort the debate that is crucial to democracy,’’ says Brendan Nyhan, an assistant professor in Dartmouth’s government department who has conducted research on conspiracy theories. “They divert attention from the real issue and issues of concern that public officials should be debating.”
It is a long article, make sure to read it before listening to the video below, where Mark Dice discusses 18 "crazy" conspiracy theories............. all that were proven true over time, from either declassification of government secrets (years after the fact and AFTER insisting that those that believed those theories were crazy) or leaked information proving them true, again, usually years later.
The point is the MSM is doing everything they can to label those that "ask questions" about an "official" story as loons that are disrupting the process, yet no mention in this hit piece about conspiracy theories that are true, those "loons" were right, the official story nothing but a pack of lies.
Sure there are some theories that are over-the-top and out there, so to speak, but when "we the people" have been lied to over and over again by the very government we elected to represent us, then every single official story becomes suspect....... and they should be!

Canada's Veterans are planning on going to Ottawa on June 4th to protest the total breach of trust that this government has shown towards us and the disregard of the sacred oath that has been in place since World War I.We also plan to enlighten the public on the amount of misinformation that this government is putting out with documented proof.By doing so we will be showing this government that we are no longer going to just stand by and take the continued mistreatment of our rights. You don't have to be a Vet, or have anything to do with the military, to show your support. Actually, the more civilians the better. This will not be just a one-day event, as we plan on staying as long as it takes.
Ottawa, May 28, 2014 –Veterans, families and fellow Canadians will come together on Parliament Hill beginning June 4, 2014. This peaceful gathering is set to be the largest demonstration in support of veterans since the First World War, which began 100 years ago.
Unlike the politically scripted photo ops of military members and veterans which have inundated Canada’s media these past eight years, “Rock the Hill” is a truly grassroots apolitical initiative bringing Canadians together with veterans and their families.
“Rock the Hill” kicks off with a motorcycle ride in front of Parliament on June 4th (2:00pm) followed by a march past of veterans (2:15pm). Keynote speakers consist of a who’s who of Canada’s most prominent modern veteran advocates including Ronald Clarke, Mike Blais, Pat Stogran, David Macleod, The Equitas Society and Sean Bruyea. There will also be two veteran’s spouses speaking to the issues the families face. Events will continue through to June 7th or longer.
At the steps of Canada’s seat of democracy, Canadians will join together with those who sacrificed to preserve our most sacred democratic institution. Their goal is to change the path of Canada’s abandonment of her veterans from despair to hope. Our Canadian Forces veterans including those who served in Afghanistan, Canada’s longest war, deserve more than two minutes of silence and a photo op.
“Rock the Hill” is calling upon all Canadians to offer their support in numerous ways:
1) If you are in the Ottawa area from June 4 to 7th, and could continue much longer, get to know your Canadian veterans, share some good times and hear their stories
2) If you are a veteran, come support other veterans and share your stories
3) If you can’t come out, please consider donating to the cause. Any surplus funds will be donated to a yet to be determined charity providing direct assistance to veterans and their families.
4) If you are a music creator of family friendly rock and roll, please contact us

Timothy Alexander Guzman, Silent Crow News – The New York Times reported that Prime Minister Dmitri A. Medvedev wrote a Facebook post that said “Blood has been spilled in Ukraine again,” wrote Mr. Medvedev, once favored in the West for playing good cop to the hard-boiled president, Vladimir V. Putin. “The threat of civil war looms.” According to the New York Times article ‘Russia Is Quick to Bend Truth About Ukraine’, said that “He pleaded with Ukrainians to decide their own future “without usurpers, nationalists and bandits, without tanks or armored vehicles — and without secret visits by the C.I.A. director.” The New York Times followed with a statement regarding Medvedev’s post. It said the following:
And so began another day of bluster and hyperbole, of the misinformation, exaggerations, conspiracy theories, overheated rhetoric and, occasionally, outright lies about the political crisis in Ukraine that have emanated from the highest echelons of the Kremlin and reverberated on state-controlled Russian television, hour after hour, day after day, week after week
Now let’s look at the facts. First, blood has been spilled since the beginning of the crisis. Back in February, USA Today published a headline that declared many people were killed. The title read “As many as 100 killed in New Ukraine Clashes” proves Mr. Medvedev’s claims. The Ukraine’s unelected government is made up of Nationalists and bandits. They are the same people who don’t even agree with each other as they resorted to violence during sessions of the Ukrainian parliament. Here are some of the photos below:
Seems like banditry to me. The New York Times states that “Conspiracy Theories” are coming out of “State-Controlled Russian Television” constantly. Well, Reuters did confirm that the head of the Central Intelligence Agency did visit Ukrainian officials. “We don’t normally comment on the CIA director’s travel but given the extraordinary circumstances in this case and the false claims being leveled by the Russians at the CIA we can confirm that the director was in Kiev as part of a trip to Europe,” White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters.” How about that other conspiracy theory concerning the US Assistant Secretary of State Victoria “F**K the EU” Nuland and US Ambassador to the Ukraine Geoffrey R. Pyatt and their conversation on how they can install a “Puppet” government in the Ukraine by nominating Bat’kyvshchina Party leader Arseniy Yatseniuk as Deputy Prime Minister and have Udar Party leader and former Boxer Vitaly Klitschko step aside. At the same time, Nuland and Pyatt agreed to discredit the Svoboda party, a Neo-Nazi political party they originally backed. These are not conspiracy theories, these are the facts. However, the New York Times did admit that “There is no question that the new Ukrainian government and its Western allies, including the United States, have engaged in their own misinformation efforts at times, with officials in Kiev making bold pronouncements in recent days of enforcement efforts that never materialized. On Tuesday, some American officials were spreading unverified photographs allegedly showing Russian rocket launchers carried by pro-Russian demonstrators in eastern Ukraine.”
The anti-Russian crusade carried out by the American mainstream media is more apparent as the crisis continues. The media reports are even sometimes laughable. The New York Times is at least truthful in one sense; they do report “All The News That’s Fit To Print.” Nobody in the alternative media would ever disagree with that statement.
