Decisión de Decree

Inmediatamente después que él denunci Fidel Castro para ser dictador, presidente Bush decretó unilateral nuevas sanciones contra Irán, moviendo los Estados Unidos más cercano a guerra contra Irán. ¿Alguien por favor me diría cómo es que Bush ejercita tal energía omnipotent, sin uniforme un pío del congreso y de la prensa de corriente? ¿Cómo puede él tomar tal acción seria y siniestra contra un país soberano y independiente sin ir al congreso para el permiso? ¿Nos no enseñaron en clases del civics en nuestras escuelas públicas que el congreso decreta los leyes, el presidente los hacemos cumplir, y la judicatura los interpreta? ¿Cómo puede el presidente ahora gobernar por el decreto, decretando y haciendo cumplir los leyes siempre que él desee, especialmente unos que sean probables enviar nuestra nación en guerra? ¿Cómo es ese diferente lo hace de un qué dictador? Bush también etiquetó recientemente un rama de los militares iraníes, la unidad de Quds de la élite, para ser una organización del “terrorista”, otra vez sin la aprobación del congreso. Ésa se parece a mí ser una noción algo ridícula. O el gobierno iraní es una organización del terrorista o no es. Para separar hacia fuera un rama del gobierno iraní para ser marcas de una organización del terrorista tanto sentido como diciendo que la Cia y el pentágono, pero no los E.E.U.U. el gobierno, es organizaciones del terrorista. Considere, por ejemplo, Siria. Es un país que régimen ha sido etiquetado “terrorista” por los E.E.U.U. gobierno. Ése es porqué presidente Bush dice que él no hablará con Siria, que es sí mismo una demanda impar, dado que la Cia cortó un reparto secreto con Siria para torturar a un ciudadano canadiense nombrado Maher Arar. El reparto fue cortado después de que la Cia secuestrara Arar en suelo americano y lo batiera apagado a Siria para la tortura conforme al reparto que la Cia cortó con Siria. Pero presidente Bush está mintiendo quizá deliberadamente cuando él dice los E.E.U.U. el gobierno no hablará con Siria porque él está pensando quizá la misma cosa de la Cia que él hace al parecer sobre la unidad de Qud de Irán que la Cia es una organización separada y independiente que no lleva ninguna relación verdadera a los E.E.U.U. gobierno. Todavía, implícito concediendo que la Cia es una pieza de la base de los E.E.U.U. government yesterday, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice told a congressional hearing that “We do not think the case was handled as it should have been.” According to MSNBC, “When asked whether the United States relied on diplomatic assurances from Syria that the engineer, Maher Arar, would not be tortured, Rice said she would respond later because her memory of certain details ‘has faded a bit.’” Unfortunately, like the mainstream press, the members of Congress missed the opportunity to ask Rice the critical questions: How is it that the CIA cut a torture deal with a terrorist state that President Bush says the U.S. government hasn’t talked to? Who was the CIA official who cut the deal? Who was the Syrian official with whom he cut the deal? Was the deal put into writing? What were the exact terms of the deal? Were the means of torture agreed upon? Did they agree that Arar would remain incarcerated for a year? Was President Bush aware of the deal prior to the time it was cut, and if so, wouldn’t that mean that President Bush has been lying to the American people about not talking to Syria? What are the implications, moral and otherwise, of cutting a torture deal with a regime that President Bush says is a terrorist organization and with whom he says the U.S. government hasn’t talked to? All this just goes to show what a fraud and a sham the “war on terrorism” is and how it is nothing more than a cover for the U.S. government’s own wrongful conduct.
