Gruppi di diritti: Guarde della pace che non fanno abbastanza per i civili di Darfur

Soltanto circa un terzo del totale di 27.000 soldati e la polizia che sono supposti di essere schierati sono attualmente sul posto. Il risultato, ad esempio Dismas Nkunda del consorzio di Darfur, è che le circostanze sono ancora pericolose quanto prima per la gente di Darfur. “La gente sulla terra, il IDPs, [gente internamente spostata], la gente locale sta dicendo che hanno perso la fede in quanto il UNAMID che stavano sperando stavano andando proteggerle sembrano come se relativa venire a mancare il relativo lavoro,„ abbia detto Nkunda. Nkunda aggiunge che mentre UNAMID non ha la capacità di rispondere a combattimento su grande scala, deve cominciare a rispondere con forza agli attacchi quotidiani e più piccoli ai civili. Incolpa dello schieramento lento delle forze e delle attrezzature sull'indifferenza dei paesi che presto avevano impegnato l'aiuto rapido ed efficace. Nkunda inoltre incolpa del U.N., che dice dovrebbe fornire la protezione politica per uno schieramento attuale delle forze. Tuttavia, riserva la critica più severa al governo sudanese. “Più d'importanza, il governo sudanese sta ostruendo tutto il tentativo di portare nelle cose come l'apparecchiatura con le abitudini fa ritardare e tutto queste un stanno impedendo il processo di avere una forza che avrebbe avuta speranza per la gente di Darfur,„ Nkunda aggiunto. The Darfur conflict has been raging since 2003, sparked by rebel attacks on government installations. The Sudanese government allegedly responded by arming militias that forcibly displaced hundreds of thousands of people. The United Nations estimates that 300,000 people have died as a result of the conflict and more than two million are said to be displaced, the majority of them living in camps in Darfur. The Sudanese government stands accused of massive human rights violations relating to the Darfur conflict, including the arming of local militias that have killed, raped and forcibly displaced hundreds of thousands of people. The prosecutor for the International Criminal Court in The Hague has just recently asked that the Court issue an arrest warrant for Sudanese President Hassan Omar al-Bashir for genocide and crimes against humanity. Pre-trial judges are considering the request. The Sudanese government has repeatedly denied the charges and rejected the Court’s jurisdiction. Why is there so much ado about the loss of lives in Darfur, and almost nothing is heard through the media about the killing fields in the Democratic Republic of Congo?
In Darfur, imperialists-backed separatist rebels and the Sudanese government responses are the cause of these blood sheds. In D. R. Congo, private armies of different imperialist companies are committing these crimes to secure their plundering fields. The reason behind this hypocrisy in the media is that the oil of Darfur will go to China by contract, but the gold, diamond and coltan of D. R. Congo are plundered by the imperialist companies silently. Although every loss of life is deplorable, in Darfur about 200′000 and in the D. R. Congo more than 5 million people were killed during recent years.
That is the reason why the crocodile tears which are shedding for Darfur, are dried from the source for D. R. Congo.
