De Sluiting van het Netwerk van de Telefoon van de cel, Websites die in Inspanning worden geblokkeerd om Informatie te controleren die Teheran naar voren komt
Aangezien de verkiezing van de Vrijdag aan een weekend van rellen in de hoofdstad van Teheran en beschuldigingen uiting gaf dat het Binnenlandse Ministerie het resultaat ten gunste van President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad monteerde, meldt de veelvoudige buitenlandse media afzet inspanningen door de Iraanse overheid om de media rapporten te controleren die uit de natie komen.
De televisie van Al-Arabiya naar verluidt is verboden van het werken in het kapitaal voor een week, terwijl Nederland 2 zijn journalist gehad heeft en cameraman die wordt bevolen om het land te verlaten. BBC is ook
claiming that the government is responsible for jamming which has caused intermittant service disruptions of its Farsi-language service.
The primary cell phone network in Tehran has also been cut off since Saturday evening, while the government is apparently blocking several popular websites, including Facebook and YouTube, likely also part of an effort to prevent unapproved reports from coming out of the nation.
Former Prime Minister Mir-Hossein Mousavi is seeking to have the election results overturned, amid reports that he has been placed under house arrest for calling his supporters to publicly contest the outcome. Ahmadinejad has rejected allegations of election fraud, and likened the furore to the aftermath of a soccer match.
