Gordon Brown faces ‘quit now’ calls as Labour MPs panic غوردون براون يواجه 'الخروج الان' العمل كما يدعو الى الذعر النواب
Gordon Brown was facing public and private pressure to consider quitting for the sake of his party last night after the Crewe by-election “catastrophe” left ministers and Labour MPs convinced that they could not win with him at the helm. غوردون براون تواجه القطاعين العام والخاص للنظر في انهاء الضغوط من اجل مصلحة حزبه الليلة الماضية بعد Crewe قبل الانتخابات "نكبه" غادر وزراء ونواب واقتناعا منها بان العمل انها لا تستطيع الفوز معه في القيادة.
Jack Straw, the Justice Secretary, was being earmarked by senior backbenchers as the figure to tell Mr Brown that they had lost confidence in him and that he should step aside unless there was a swift improvement in Labour’s fortunes. قال جاك سترو ، والامين العدالة ، ويجري المخصصه من قبل كبار اعضاء البرلمان حيث الشكل السيد براون ان نقول انها قد فقدت الثقة فى اليه وانه ينبغى ان يتنحى ما لم يكن هناك تحسن سريع في العمل للثروات.
Graham Stringer was the first Labour MP to call for Mr Brown to go, saying that the party needed a new leader to save it from “disaster” at the next election. المراسل الاخباري غراهام كان اول عمل النائب الدعوة الى السيد براون الى الذهاب ، وقال ان الحزب في حاجة الى زعيم جديد لانقاذ من "كارثه" في الانتخابات المقبلة.
Ivan Lewis, the Health Minister, said that Crewe & Nantwich, where the Conservatives overturned a 7,000 Labour majority to win with their own majority of nearly 8,000, could mark the “beginning of the end” for Labour. ايفان لويس ، وزير الصحة ، وقال ان Crewe & Nantwich ، حيث تدهور وضع المحافظين 7000 العمل لكسب غالبية الخاصة بها مع معظم ما يقرب من 8000 ، يمكن ان يمثل "بداية النهاية" لليد العاملة.

Senior ministers were among those who told The Times privately that the party could not do nothing if it seemed to be heading towards certain defeat. من كبار الوزراء من بين الذين تعرضوا من الاوقات من القطاع الخاص وقال ان الحزب لا يمكن ان تفعل شيئا اذا كان يبدو ان بعض تتجه نحو الهزيمة.
They said that a meeting of the Parliamentary Labour Party on June 2 would be critical to Mr Brown’s future. وقالت ان اجتماع للجنة البرلمانيه لحزب العمل 2 حزيران / يونيو سيكون حاسما للسيد براون في المستقبل. If the Prime Minister fails to impress, there is speculation that a senior party figure is ready to go public and call for him to quit. واذا كان رئيس الوزراء يفشل في اقناع ، وهناك تكهنات بأن أحد كبار الرقم طرف على استعداد للعودة الى القطاعين العام والدعوة له في الرحيل.
One former Cabinet minister said there was a 20 to 30 per cent chance that Mr Brown would himself offer to step down if he believed that doing so would help his party. واحد وقال الوزير ان الحكومة السابقة كان هناك 20 الى 30 فى المائة فرصة ان السيد براون من شأنه ان يقدم نفسه الى تقديم استقالتها اذا واعرب عن اعتقاده بان من شأن ذلك ان يساعد حزبه.
No immediate move against Mr Brown appeared likely. لا تحرك الفوري ضد يبدو من المرجح ان السيد براون. Most ministers believe that he must be given until at least the conference season to re-establish himself. معظم وزراء نعتقد انه يجب ان تعطى على الاقل حتى موسم مؤتمر لاعادة انشاء نفسه. But last night Labour MPs were canvassing the names of candidates — Mr Straw, David Miliband, Alan Johnson, James Purnell and Andy Burnham — who they would expect to step forward if Mr Brown were persuaded to move out. ولكن في الليلة الماضية كانت التماس العمل النواب اسماء المرشحين -- السيد سترو ، miliband ديفيد الن جونسون وجيمس purnell اندي بورنهام -- من انها تتوقع ان خطوة الى الامام اذا ما تم اقناع السيد براون الى الرحيل.
The Prime Minister brushed aside questions about his leadership and promised to steer the country through difficult times after the formerly safe Cheshire seat fell to the Conservatives with a 17.6 per cent swing. رئيس وزراء تنحيتها جانبا اسءله حول قيادته ووعد ان تقود البلاد خلال الاوقات الصعبة بعد الامنه سابقا تشيشاير مقعد تقع على عاتق المحافظين مع 17،6 فى المائة سوينغ.
David Cameron hailed the result as the “end of new Labour” and promised to build his own “coalition for change” to take the Tories back to power. واشاد ديفيد كاميرون النتيجة بانها "نهاية العمل الجديد" ، ووعد لبناء بلده "التحالف من اجل التغيير" ان يتخذ المحافظون العودة الى السلطة.
Mr Brown seemed highly unlikely to face a leadership challenge from former Cabinet ministers such as Charles Clarke and Alan Milburn, who have been deeply critical of him. السيد براون يبدو من المستبعد جدا ان تواجه التحدي القيادة من الوزراء السابقين مثل تشارلز كلارك والن milburn ، من كان له بالغ الحرجه. MPs believe that such a move would scar Labour and mean certain defeat at the general election. النواب نعتقد ان مثل هذا التحرك من شانه ان يعني ندبة العمل وبعض الهزيمة في الانتخابات العامة. But they said it was the role and duty of the Cabinet to tell Mr Brown that he had become a liability if they perceived that to be the general view in the party. ولكنها قالت انه كان من واجب ودور مجلس الوزراء السيد براون ان اقول انه قد اصبح ينظر اليها اذا كانت المسؤولية على ان يكون الرأي العام في الحزب.
Mr Straw, as the most senior figure in the Cabinet, was being advanced as the ultimate “man in a grey suit” to tell the Prime Minister that he should consider quitting, a job he was unlikely to welcome because he would almost certainly regard himself as a potential leader to replace Mr Brown. السيد سترو ، كما اقدم مجلس الوزراء في الشكل ، يجري على النحو المتقدم في نهاية المطاف "رجل رماديه في الدعوى" على قول رئيس الوزراء انه ينبغي ان ينظر هروب ، وظيفة وقال انه من غير المرجح ان ارحب لانه يكاد يكون من المؤكد ان من شأنه ان الصدد نفسه كما يمكن ليحل محل القائد السيد براون.
Cabinet ministers insisted there was no malevolence towards Mr Brown, and there there was a sadness for him that things had gone so wrong. واصر مجلس الوزراء لم يكن هناك الضغينه نحو السيد براون ، وهناك كان هناك حزن له ان الامور قد ذهب خطأ. But they said that Crewe had shown that people were no longer prepared to respect Mr Brown. لكنهم قالوا ان Crewe قد اثبتت ان الناس لم يعودوا على استعداد لاحترام السيد براون.
One senior critic of Mr Brown said the Crewe result was a catastrophe, particularly after the Government had suddenly come up with £2.7 billion to appease taxpayers — to no effect — in the middle of the campaign. واحد من كبار الناقد وقال السيد براون Crewe وكانت النتيجة كارثه ، لا سيما بعد ان كانت الحكومة قد تأتي فجاه مع 2،7 مليار جنيه استرليني لاسترضاء دافعي الضرائب -- اي اثر ل-- في منتصف الحملة.
