Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump says the United States needs rich people to be great again.
“We’re going to make our country rich again; we’re going to make our country great again,” Trump said Tuesday in his victory speech at his Palm Beach club Mar-a-Lago, after crushing Senator Marco Rubio in his home state of Florida.
“And we need the rich in order to make the country great, I am sorry to tell you,” the billionaire businessman added.
The real estate mogul won Florida with all 99 delegates, dealing a major blow to Senator Rubio.
Rubio congratulated Trump on his “big victory” in the Florida primary and announced that he was dropping out of the 2016 race.
After belittling Rubio for weeks as a “lightweight,” Trump praised his former opponent for running a tough campaign.
