In a new episode of his ridicule-ridden show ‘Who is America?’ notorious comedian Sacha Baron Cohen pokes fun at pretentious haute cuisine aficionados by treating a food critic to a bite of what he claims is human flesh.
Baron Cohen’s show thrives on duping Americans into seriously accepting ridiculous propositions and situations, like using a pork shield against Islamic terrorists, and he seems to be testing the limits with every new episode. The latest one features Cohen’s ex-convict persona, Rick Sherman, serving “prison-inspired” dishes to low-key food critic Bill Jilla.
The courses included “anally-aged veal in a strawberry prophylactic,” in reference to how food is smuggled into prisons, – so far, so gross. But the pinnacle of the dinner was “filet of vegetarian-fed Chinese dissident and cauliflower purée.”
Jilla was taken aback by the prospect of sampling human flesh, for a whole few moments. He then caved in to Baron Cohen’s argument that the meat was “ethically sourced,” stuck a bit in his mouth and very nearly swooned with pleasure.
“It’s like butter soft,” he extolled. “Who needs a knife? It’s melting on my palate.” He topped it all off by thanking the family of the supposed Chinese dissident for allowing him to taste the man.
Jilla’s website, dinnerreviews.com, crashed immediately after the show’s airing. It’s unclear whether the site went down from being overloaded, or was disabled on purpose.
